I have now gone a year without even a hint of smoking, I even go outside with my mates at the pub when they are smoking but it has no effect on me whatsoever. I did it cold turkey and if you read the websites of the companies that make patches etc they say that without their help you have virtually no chance of lasting for more than a year, so this is one in the eye for nicotinell etc. I have not smoked between 11000 and 13000 cigarettes which I normally would have smoked. Good luck to everyone trying to quit.

Congratulations Paul, and well done! I'm following in your footsteps, cold turkey. It's an inspiration to find you. What really encourages me is that you can be around smokers and not be phased by it. I've always been weak around certain family members that smoke.
I will be on top of the world when I make 1 year. That is a goal that I certainly look forward to...1-22-09, seems like forever from now.
