Hi Kay
Sorry to hear you are having a bad time - I am on day 9 of Champix and have not noticed many effects apart from:
- vivid dreams
- headache (the first 3 days only)
- nausea when pill not taken after food and some stomach pains at times
- feeling a little fuzzy
What effects are you suffering from?

Side Affects
HI feeling very sick when i have taken my tablets, very drained, and i feel very washed out and i have lost all my colour.I am thinking of going to 0.5 dose twice a day cause i was ok then it may help. Also sorry to be crude but my wee is very dark and i have pain in my bottom back only came on bad yesterday just feeling very low but the good thing i havent had a fag at all. Thanks for your replies
I know a lot of people have found that making sure they take the pills with food eases the nausea.
It might be worth popping back to your doctor just to get things checked.
Well done on staying smokefree though hun, good luck x
Hi Kay, Congrats on Quitting the champix make a big difference dont they :)............ in more ways than 1 :).
Sickness, Only for 30 minutes or so after taking them.
Tired all the time.
Dreams like I have never had before.
feeling down, I personally find this the hardest to deal with only because I am a happy person and not used to feeling negative, I think this may also be due to quitting. I quit december 3rd still going strong. Bite the bit love you'll get through those side effects and feel so much better very soon
For me the side effects, barring dreams and nausea, have all worn off. I had the 'fuzzy, spaced ou' feeling for the first couple of weeks, felt pretty dreadful really. Now, slight nausea for half an hour after taking, and some pretty vivid dreams. Fortunately the dreams are usually quite pleasant. Passionate sex with Carl King from Emmerdale, I didnt want to wake up
Last night, for the second time, I dreamt that I was smoking. Its great because it means I have the 'blip' that makes me stronger, without really having the blip
Thanks to you all

Side affects
I would have to say at the start, just sick a bit. But it was worth it.:):)
Hey ..
I am on day 9 of Chantix..I was initially expecting the very worst but after the first day I am just dealing with being tired during the day. I no longer get upset stomach, which I did at first and my sleep has been great..no weird dreams ..just very informative ones. I am sure this drug affects all of us in a different way, seems that most of us have the same problems with sleep, nausea, etc. If you are experiencing really bad side effects you should call your doctor and maybe adjust the dosage. I started with just a half mg. for a week and quit at day one. I seemed to be ok then cravings hit so I went to 1 mg. which I am at now. I am sure everything will be ok..just check in with your doc..
Hey Kay, glad to see you went to the doc and you know what the problem is.
Champix really does help. The side effects feeling down, tired, sick, dreams and everything else that people are talking about in my experience will go away after a few weeks. or talk to your Gp about reducing the dose slightly.
Nearly 7 months for me now thanks to champix and a positive mental attitude!
Hope this help, myself and many other serial quitters on here have found it works for us when all else has failed!
