Have I missed something? I've only been in this 3-week room for a few minutes, and it sounds like there's something going on....can anyone let me in on the secret?

I have been quit for 2 Weeks and 3 minutes (14 days). I have saved £72.66 by not smoking 280 cigarettes. I have saved 23 hours and 20 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 04/01/2008 11:45

i really havent seen anything which amounts to bullying but if you feel that then i guess it happened. But still - you can choose to ignore comments or individuals you dont want to interact with and just talk to the rest of us.

Also a good argument now and then is good for us - especially now we have all given up smoking - its like a storm - its pretty unpleasant while its going on but after the air is clear and the birds start singing and the world is born anew (sorry got a bit wistful and poetic there! lol!)

Ok i really like this forum and EVERYONE i have spoken to on it - this whole thing has got out of hand and i dont want anyone to leave so this is my take on the situation for what its worth.

1. This is not the buffy and boudee show - they are on here alot (as am i) and are often the first people to welcome a new user or offer support to someone who is struggling and they are usually wise in the advice they offer.

2. The comment Gary made was actually quite funny - a new user came on and said he had smoked 3 packs for years and Gary said 3 packs in years isnt too bad - pretty funny really. Boudee then pointed out that actually making a joke might not be the best thing for a new user as a first experience on here when support and warmth might be a better introduction to the site. Also a fair comment.

3. When all is said and done what we are talking about on here is life and death stuff. Most smokers die before they should do. There is nothing more important than giving up that ****ing awful and evil addiction. We have to help each other as only we know what its really like - people who have never smoked dont have a clue. This is serious stuff and we need to take it seriously.

4. I made a comment a few days ago about how i dont like NRT - Boudee picked me up on that cos i shouldnt diss someone elses quit method - i was a bit pissed off with that and called her a donut but actually you know what - she was right. Whatever method one chooses is the right method for them and i was wrong to even plant a seed that NRT might be no good - as i say this is too serious to **** about with.

5. Finally we have all just given up smoking for ****s sake - we are bound to be a bit tetchy with each other.

But no one rules the site. No one is being a bully. Its alright to argue and disagree and its alright to get pissed off - but walking away serves no purpose and can only leave you more isolated and the rest of us who remain with less support. So i say if you thinking of leaving - stay and work it through because leaving is a lose / lose outcome for everyone.

BLIMEY - This forum has gone a bit down hill, its a shame though as it is such a helpful tool for all of us trying to accomplish such a hard task.

Gay String was being funny - I laughed at his comment - this is why I enjoy the site. I don't want to be depressed reading sad stories ALL the time, its nice to see people supporting each and taking the p*ss in a non threatening kind of way. I'm sure if the person who wrote the intial 3 packs a year comment was offended, they would have said. Instead they have propbably avoided the site for rear of causing such a problem.

I like to log in and see how people are doing and what high's low's they have been through and hearing there funny stories.

Lets make one thing clear, this is a forum for everyone to share their views or experience and sometimes make funny comments etc.

Maybe everyone should take a chill pill, relax thier blood vessels and stop all this anger and instead rejoice that we have been 18 days without a cigarette - which is pretty f*cking good if I say so myself.
