Welcome back Smokesignal and good luck this time are you using anything to help with your quit ie patches/micr tabs/champix ?
Hi SmokeSignal,
Hang in there and keep trying, I have just crept into Day 3, and I have been constantly trying on and off for a couple of months (Not getting past the first 1 or 2 hours each time).
This time I decided to stop at 12 noon, rather than first thing in the morning.
And it seemed to have been enough to get me through the first day (Which for me is the worst).
Throwing away days rather than hours seem more of a waste to me, so that Day 1 milstone is a huge thing for me.
Just keep trying... That's all we can do...
Wow At Least You Wade Back In. Your Not A Failure Till You Roll Over To Nic And Never Try Again. Its Just Another Round Of The Fight. Seconds Out Ding Ding .away You Go Again. We Are All On Your Side Goodluck
Maybe I should try patches..
The American Lung Association sends free patches and I do have them in the box. I am hesistant to use them since they just keep the nicotine in your body and prolongs the cleansing process. I am deperate to quit...they are 6.00 a pack now here in the States..too expensive!! Wish me luck this time --
patches~

Maybe you should at least try them for a little while if you think cold turkey would be too hard. I am trying to convince the hubby to try something because of the cost. They want to pass another tax here which will probably bring a pack over $7.00! Good luck with whatever u choose!
Patches are approx $30.00 plus tax in Toronto so I think you have a bargain there. The only problem I had was terrible nightmares.
same here~

Someone told me if you take them off before bed and put one on immediately in the morning it made sleeping easier. I dunno but maybe worth a try!

Smokesignal,
It may keep nicotine in you body a bit longer but its weaning you off it slowly so its doesn't shock the system so badly. This is why it has a higher sucess rate that going cold turkey.

I agree, in the U.K. they are about £16.00 equal to $33 USD or $31 CAD and thats for a weeks worth. However, they are available through a doctor at £6.75 equal to about £14.00 USD. So 6 or 7 USD is still quite a bargain.

It is a very good Idea to take patches off at night as it will help with sleep. tried and tested
Thanks!!
