Just have to say was in work last week with nothing to read on night shift.Friend gave me the Allen Carr book.Finished it in about 4 days...

Result 30 fags a day to nothing.Even the withdrawl period is fun.

And believe me I had absolutelty no intention of quitting.Pure accident.

I'll keep ye posted how I get on.

To be honest the physical stuff from withdrawl is pretty shitty.Headches dizzyness, cough sinus pain.but mentally it's cool. For some reason I have no desire to smoke.

WOW GORDON!!

THAT IS AMAZING!!

You sure deserve a round of applausesmileyonline.free.fr/images...

I read the Alan Carr book too and having had one recent failed quit at 52 days I must admit I did not feel the relief and happiness he spoke of. However this quit - I am understanding what he means now and that gives the drive to carry on.

Let us know how you are getting on.

Good work fella

What a result, Gordon!

An accidental quitting. It's the first time I've ever heard of anyone doing that and I'm impressed !! Well done fella. Fantastic result.

In theory - there will be no looking back. In practise, we are all here for you as / when / if you ever need any support.

Fantastic !!

Well done

:p

Ha, thats familiar. I read Allen Carr and ended up quitting "by accident" too. Have to say, it hasn't been as easy as he said it would be, and certainly not enjoyable. but his theories are bang on, and if he can make two confirmed smokers want to quit then well done him!

You give me faith, nice one fella.

Funnily enough I did exactly the same thing. I read his book sort of online while pretending to work one Friday. By the end of the day I was effectively a non-smoker. That was a fortnight ago and apart from disturbed sleep pattens that first weekend I've been comfortable with the whole thing. The mental switching-on of the light bulb regarding my addiction was astounding. I've deliberately left my last 19 fags in the glovebox as a testimony to 25 years of kidding myself that I was in control.
