I have had a lot of hope by reading the comments on here, started off by going cold turkey what a killer the first few days but seem to be winning the little demon at the moment.
gave up for 2 years,2001- but like a fool had only 1 cig (thought it would be ok)and well you can guess the rest.Tried a few more times but every time i visited the inlaws the father inlaw smokes roll up's like a steam train i would end up on his ciggy express with him.so this time im keeping away for a few weeks till i get my will power to 101%.

just finished a 12 hour day shift boy that was hard today.
at 3oclock i caved in and had to eat a sugar free chewing gum to keep me going till i got home.i did read somewhere not to use sweets instead of cigs otherwise it will make the cravings last longer.
thaxs for the welcome support replys,i know where to come now when i feel down
Munch on sweets like a loony to curb cravings
I know there is the whole sugar level thing but hey what ever works that aint smoke go for it!!
With in reason of course, chocolate n sweets breakfast lunch and dinner aint too cool
Try sipping water regularly that helps curb cravings for both the above!

Welcome hoot .Way to go on reaching 5 days. Don't worry too much about chompiing on sweets when u get cravings. As Buffy says as long as it isn't a cig who cares. I'll be honest with you hoot,I've always loved chocolate but it wasn't until I stoped cigs that I could actually taste the difference in brands.
Cadburys milk choc didn't seem to be any different to expensive Belgian stuff - until I quit and got my tastebuds back! And the smell too.Amazing!
Hello Hoot Welcome and Well Done!!..I know what you mean about visiting your father in law, I have the same problem visiting my mother she likes her smokes and is housebound now (smokes in only the one room)I don't have an option I need to visit her once a day..Good Luck..chat soon..behappyxx
