I've been lurking on these boards since I gave up (02 July 2007) but didn't really want to post because I didn't really think I was going to be successful with the quit.
Turns out - I'm going strong! I really think it's been these boards which have helped too. So THANK YOU.
*hugs all round*
I know I'm not out of the danger zone yet. There are still going to be some hard times ahead...cravings, temptations, 'special moments'...but I feel more ready to cope with them each day.
I thought I'd feel terrible without the cigarettes - lethargic, ill, hungry, restless. And I did (and still do sometimes) but the feeling of pride that I have been able to resist far outweighs the bad!!
Anyway, thanks again. I'll be more of a regular poster from now!

Well done for reaching week 3 its good to be cautious i was going well then one day i had a nightmare and was really tempted but survived to fight another day, just hang in there. I find this site very informative and helpful i post every day i find it helps me to post about how the days are going and its nice reading about how other people are doing.
Fresh, glad to hear you made it to week 3, thats me as well, as you say temptations etc can get in way, I had a tooth out this morning and boy did I need a ciggie then but it says no smoking or drinking for 48 hours that was was great, no excuse then.
Everyone in this forum helps each other, a few giggles and sometimes we get together for a few drinks, or coffee and doughnuts, we pull up a chair and chat. Good luck, keep strong.
