Day 15 and a test of sorts...and thank you!

OK it's day 15 for me, and a big test today I think; a friend's wedding and then the reception....I've have been teetotal for more than eight years so these events tend to pass me by at the best of times (I like to go but get bored after a while when everyone else starts gettin p*ssed !!), but I always had a fag break every so often to break the evening up; tonight I won't even have that.

Still, I have been gardening a bit this last few days, no more shortness of breath and energy levels starting to go back up a bit after two lethargic weeks so I should be grateful (and I am grateful in a health sense!), will just have to have extra buffet food tonight instead of fags :)!

Thanks to everyone on this forum by the way; I would have had no chance of getting to the third week without the posts I read every day, whether it's people newer to it all than me or long-term quitters; I log on every time I get a craving, if I'm not logged on already, and have learned loads about quitting; there's more to it all than I thought....:)

Have a good time tonight at the wedding, these things get easier the more we do them. I am going to my neices birthday party tonight and there will be people there that used to be my ex smoking buddies but the majority of guests dont smoke so I will be fine. Have some more buffet like you said food is so much nicer than smoking isnt it. Good that you are tee total cos I think alchohol can weaken your resolve early in your quit and should be avoided.

Hi Angry Bear - hope all went well at the wedding and reception - you've now cleared another big hurdle and are that much further along your smoke free path. These social occasions can be real deal breakers at times, and to come through them smoke free can, and should, be a real confidence booster. Keep on keeping on - and well done x

Thanks for the support as ever, the day went off OK, got a bit bored about 8.30 so came home for an hour (the do was only round the corner) to get changed and chill for a little bit then went back, but ate a load as promised!

Caught the missus having a crafty fag when I got back there, she's one of these people that can smoke two or three when she's out then not smoke again for weeks; she felt bad but I said she's not to worry; she's banned her mates from smoking in the house on my account so I can't say she's not being supportive! And she only had a snout because she'd had a few :)

16 days then, another situational trigger tested ;)

Thanks Aitch, that's how it feels to be honest! Looking forward to a time when you have to actually think about how many days it's been though, still, one step at a time !

Hey that time will come. I used to be keeping track of the days now if its the 30th of the month I know I've done another month. Days are now unimportant to me and its getting easier all the time.

You are winning keep at it.

Yayyyy angrybear you're doing so well :)

Just remember to be on your guard, it only takes one drag to coax you back to a full pack even if your other half smokes don't be tempted...

Keep going, you can do this :)

Pat on the back

Good for you another hurdle jumped over, I wish I were one of those people thatcan just have a fag when they go out for a drink, unfortunately if I had one I'd be back smoking again well good luck xx

Day 17 & feel OK today

Hey thanks for all your support, don't feel too bad at all today, work's been a real b*tch but that's OK, a fag wouldn't make that better. Day 17, temperamentally feel the best I have done so far :)
