Tonight could be the night!!!

Hello all,

Tonight will be the first night I've been out since I quit smoking those 20 days ago. Will be having a few drinks.

Have been slightly drunk at home a couple of times before without temptation but that was there was nothing there to tempt me in the first place.

The wife will be there if I have any stupid ideas.

I'm nervous and excited! I want to go out there and be able to have a good night out and not feel I need to smoke.

Just got to remember why I'm doing this.

I'll report back tomorrow to let you all know how I got on!

Well, I did it! I managed a night out drinking (got quite sozzled) and didn't smoke once.

Not to say I didn't think about, cos I did, but in a good way.

Kept thinking how relaxed I felt sitting in a pub drinking and not wanting a cigarette.

Got a bit loud and boastful. Kept telling people how I didn't want a cigarette and how proud I was of myself!!

This smoking ban has definetley helped me on nights out.

Ended up round a friends flat who smoke indoors. Almost everyone was smoking, but I didn't feel any temptation. I could smell the smoke on my shirt when I got home. We were only ther for 1/2 hour.

Anyway! Well done me! I'm so proud of myself.

Heres my quitkeeper stats so far,

I have been quit for 2 Weeks, 6 Days, 10 hours, 54 minutes and 45 seconds (20 days). I have saved £37.84 by not smoking 306 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Day, 1 hour and 30 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 01/07/2007 00:00

Were you drinking your usual or did you change it to smoething differrent??? I think i wil have to change my drink wheni go out next, so used to have a fag with my voddie and coke,lol.xx

I hope I can be as strong as you tonight as im going out for my sisters b-day, all the family will be there and most of em smoke so it will be me prob sat at an empty table while they block out all the natural light outside smoking.

Cant say im looking forward to it and I intend to get sloshed, (this is when I used to smoke the most) so I am feeling a bit scared and anxious about this....... Wish me look guys and Ill let you all know how I get on.

I have been quit for 22 days now and dont want to spoil it, so I think I will come home if it gets too much, hope the beer doesnt take my will power away.
