I had a strong urge last night totally out of the blue and had to remember that I didn't smoke anymore.
After feeling pretty confident about this quit I was knocked backed this morning as I was feeling a bit down (probably cos I had to go to work on a Saturday) Had the strongest urge I've had so far on this quit. Managed to ride it out. Shows how we can all be taken by surprise, no matter how long its been since we gave up.
These later craves are shocking! so unexpected, thats because it is not a 24/7 conscious train of thought anymore!
It feels bad but really it is good as it means that you are thinking less often about it!
Well done Barb and Barney ride through these they are truly little compared to the beginning, it's just we don't have the ability to calibrate the feelings, we can only compare them to how we felt just before the feeling came, so it is a false reading!!
Seems that strong urges have hit a few of us by surprise lately. The good thing is as far as we're aware no-one has caved as a result and (I don't think?) anyone has yet complained of having two bad days consecutively. In other words we've come through our respective worst days, stayed strong enough to tuff it out and moved on the following day. This should give good encouragement for those to come who will ge a bad day during the early part of their quit.
I think this is my day 26 today and I anticipate maybe one more out the blue surprise bad day and no more. If I do get any more than that I'm gonna be so p*ssed off, I'll probably write a strong letter of compalint to the Council....
LOL how bout we start a petition. These flippin' Councils have a lot to answer for. What with all the taxes I have to pay to them I don't expect on top of all that to suffer withdrawal symptoms when I quit smoking!!!!
Serious question-How bad are your craves when you get them?.
Right now i could quite easily light up. . I wont , but i picture myself really enjoying it.AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH
