Reduced Gum Strength Alert....

Hello not posted for a bit I was doing pretty well after my 8week upset i am now coming upto 11weeks(inbetween month 2 & 3) didnt know where to post thought better go in 3 month part so didnt look like a a smug non smoker in the 2 month part - Now ive stop wittering on - over a week ago I reduced my gum strength & I am finding it pretty hard which as took me by complete surprise - ie fag urges worse again- bad moods bla de bla - dreams are back of smoking fags - weird really coz when i smoked i never had fags in dreams but now I do - I am starting to think I have made a big mistake of cutting my strength although I can say I havent slipped up yet is this normal to feel like this on strength of gum drop - because who knows wot will happen when I eventually (the twelve of never probably) I have no GUM!!!!wot a terrible thought HELP ANYONE I AM DESPERATE TO KNOW IF IM DOING ALL THIS RIGHT???

Hi I think you are doing fab 11 weeks wow. I have come down my patch strenth today and am a bit worried but keep thinking its all in my mind. please let us know how you get on and keep up the great work your a star Linda

You're body gets used to nicotine at a certain level- when you drop your gum strength you will still feel those urges as your body feels it is being deprived.

Hopefully the urges you get would not be as bad as if you stopped completely, though they may still be bad. You might have to grit your teeth for a bit but your body will get used to the reduced dose! It just might be a bit tough in the meantime. Everyone is affected differently.

Keep up the hard work, each 'stage' you go through (stopping smoking, reducing nicotine intake etc) is a step to being free completely from the fags.

You have done so well to get to 11 weeks and should be proud!

Thanks for advice everyone - I love this website everyone is so happy n understanding - Ive got to 11 weeks & 1 day I am gettong used to the Gum drop strenght slowly - Volcano hit the nail on the head with wots happening to me - feel tonnes better now - I do have to go for a maintainance check with smokey nurse (feel like a car - BUT i dont pump fumes in n out no more)-quick thinking for me that one lol

I give myself another week n I have see just been helping to eat my little lads easter eggs to compensate - I am a big chocolate lover but i can honestly say this week I am absolutely sick of it!MoAN MOAN have i ever ought nice to say I keep u all posted with wot happens - Lindaspicer keep me updated how you finding it? - better go bed now my baby settled at last mmm need a fag moment zzzzzzzzzz - ps oh yeah someone asked me today how i have done it? My reply was that I didnt know?

pps boudee who i can truly say is the biggest inspiration on the board where u get the dancing icons? theyre ace ?
