Kindly help me out for reaching out to a donor for my nephew who requires kidney transplant on very urgent basis. Blood group O +ve.

Hello, I'm sorry to hear that your nephew has kidney failure and needs a transplant. When I needed a kidney 6 years ago, I shared my need on Facebook, my church, friends and family. It was especially helpful to have a few friends who were kidney advocates for me; they helped me share my need but also made themselves available to answer questions confidentially for anyone who wanted to know more about living donation. The National Kidney Foundation also has lots of valuable information on finding a living donor at kidney.org/transplantation/.... It is an overwhelming time for your nephew and your family. You will find that as you share the need, people you might not expect may step forward. Ask the transplant clinic or nephrologist if there is a support group of kidney patients to connect with, or transplanted patients who may be open to share how they found their donor. As a family and community around your nephew, you can also ask what his other needs are and find ways to help fill them. For me, I welcomed friends to join me on walks to keep up my exercise. I learned to accept help with grocery shopping or other errands. I stayed connected with activities that gave me joy. Organize the family with meals if that's what he would like... Your nephew is lucky to you to advocate for him. Best wishes to all of you.
