Recently had neuropathy in hands and feet. Do not know if the cause might be medication or stress. Anyone had any experience with neuropathy from any certain medication? Does not bother me while sleeping, only when awake.

Medication and neuropathy
Diabetes is common cause. Not sure if you are. If I remember right only cure is vitamin B. Rgs
Check your vitamin B and Vitamin D levels. I had this and I was low in vitamin B12. Also if you have a fistula, it could be Steal syndrome. All the best
I have this problem too. I reported it to the transplant clinic and the neurologist saw me. He said it could be tacro or prednisolone but was very vague. My tx consultant is following this up as he thinks he can substitute something else for the tacro. I don't really want to change meds again but it would be good to feel my feet again. I will check vitamin B and D levels. Thanks.
I had mild neuropathy in my left foot ever since my transplant. It’s gradually spread to about half my foot. I assumed it was caused by tacrolimus. It just feels slightly numb, tingles and affects my balance a little. Numbness does make feet vulnerable to injury, so be careful of that.
I have and was told by transplant team that is likely a side effect of Tacrolimus. They have reduced my dose down and I have not experienced the neuropathy since. You might ask your doctor.
Can be a sign of high blood sugar. If no diabetes, as someone said, could be drug related. I’m not on tacro. It definitely should be investigated.
I actually had neuropathy for about four years in my feet (it did correspond with both weight gain and my kidneys failing, they really didn’t know) and was told “We don’t know why but it’s permanent!!!” Pain got worse and worse over the years, couldn’t fall asleep. Tried several drugs and made me too sleepy (gabapentin, neurontin, cynmbalta).
Guess what- a doctor was wrong (shocker). It wasn’t permanent. Sleep apnea can cause neuropathy. It’s an often overlooked cause. Once I started using a CPAP machine, I don’t have it at night. Have you gained much weight? That can cause sleep apnea. I would recommend getting a sleep study done if drugs are ruled out.
Thanks for the info. Actually, sleep seems to turn off the symptoms at this point. Trying to find the cause is looking for a needle in a hay stack. Hopefully with time I can but until then I have increased my walking time and looking at taking a course in relaxation. Waiting to get into to see a neurologist to be evaluated.
