Hi everyone.! I lost my transplant this year of 23 yearsš. My family and I also came down with Covid 19....My Father-in-law was hospitalized and passed away last week, my husband (healthy) although not hospitalized, was very ill, and I Remained Asymptomatic! Iāve been on steroids for 35+ years (Lupus). My Nephrologist is baffled by this. Does anyone know anyone or has had the same experience?

I am so very sorry for the loss of your father and that you all came down with COVID. Losing your transplant on top of all that - I can't even imagine what you must be feeling. Did you lose your kidney because of COVID even though you were asymptomatic? I hope 2021 will be a much better year for you.
Thank you so much. The transplant kidney failure happened before Covid - I was told the failure was due to damage caused by the anti-rejection meds long-term use over the 20 years. Didnāt know that could happen. I asked my nephrologist and primary, though asymptomatic, what could be the side effects of having tested positive for Covid. We have dialysis centers here that only take care of Covid patients. The answer was ...āThey really donāt know.ā I will ask about the Cytokine Storm.
I am sorry and sad to hear about the events you are going thru'. Can you ask your nephrologist or perhaps in combination with a infectious disease Dr - whether your body experienced a Cytokine Storm. This storm is quite deadly & can destroy any organ in the body. I wish you the best & Stay Strong.
