I’ve been on Pd form5 months, I’m taking Miralax everyday, about a month ago I have pain when getting up from bed in the lower left abdomen now it’s radiating to the right side, no nausea, no voting no hernia, no peritonitis, I don’t know what it is.

Have you seen a doctor for it yet? There are a few things it could be, some of which are more serious than others.

That seems a bit strange. My husband, who was on PD for about a year, didn't have that issue so he can't tell you what it is. We both wonder if the cath shifted internally and is causing a type of obstruction or soreness. My hubby suggests brining it up with your nephrologist.

T thank you, I have to get a cat scan in 2 weeks, my PD nurses, nephrologist and primary don’t know.

I feel for you. Hopefully the scan will show what's going on. If possible, plus let us know the outcome.

hi the cat scan showed nothing and I’m worried the pd nurse said it could be trapped gas I’ve been taking gas X and it’s not gas, the cat scan would have showed the gas. I don’t know what to do.

Keep pushing for answers - from the nurse, the neurologist, and others. Don't stop. You shouldn't be experiencing pain. The squeaky wheel gets attention.

I tried PD but stopped because of severe pain in my lower abdomen. It was because I was not draining enough. When I manually drained the pain went away.

How do you manually drain?

Ask your pd nurse.

I have been on Computer Assisted PD for almost a year now. I have a sharp pain in the right side of my abdomen that is not related to fill or drain pain and not related to the cycler alarms. I take Colace once a day and Miralax with 4 oz of water every day. I have not had any episodes of constipation since starting that daily. I find that s sitting with a heating pad on my abdomen periodically throughout the day had relieved the pain. Maybe the catheter caused minor irritation at the site of the pain? I don't know the cause of the pain, but I do know that the heating pad has helped. I did check with my Nephrologist before I started using the heating pad.
