Hello I'm currently a dialysis patient, diabetic, and heart failure I was recently diagnosed with. So my question is there anyone living with heart failure and doing dialysis?I'm not sure on what I should be feeling finding out about living with heart failure. Any advice would help. Thank you for your time and support. Quita55
Not Sure: Hello I'm currently a dialysis... - Kidney Dialysis
Not Sure
I'm not living with heart failure myself but I can tell you that the heart and kidneys are very closely related. I'm not sure how that might affect your ability to receive a transplant if that's something you're interested in, but I'd bet you're not alone living with both. Whatever feelings you have are valid, too. Sending you good thoughts.
I am doing in center dialysis and was recently diagnosed with coronary artery disease and given a stent. While I'm on blood thinners my transplant team said I could not get back on the list until I stop taking them. I see my cardiologist Dec 16 to see if I can stop. Right now I'm feeling as if this is one more problem to resolve and sometimes I'm angry about it, sometimes resigned to the fact I may never get a kidney.
Hello,
Thanks for asking questions about the changes in your health. When you were diagnosed, did the doctor at dialysis change your orders for dialysis? If he has changed the orders, this means your heart may not be able to handle the rate which hemo-dialysis is processed. If you are on PD, again the same but the amount of fluid you are receiving may need to change. Just like the other replies said, the heart and the kidneys work closely together. Try to ask your doctor or the nurses to explain.
