Kidney Buddy

I'm new to this site. I was diagnosed with kidney disease at 26. I started dialysis at 55 & received a new kidney at 64. I would LOVE to have a kidney "buddy" again! My close friend who had been thru my similar experiences with ESRD passed about a year ago. We shared so much, especially support that no one else could really understand. I would also like to be of support to anyone starting in this journey. Thanks for listening!

Keep coming back to this thread, you will have friends here. In my apt (senior) five of us on dialysis, I 'am in good term with two of the lady ones. My apt have chapel and prayer meeting so I get to develop some friendship there also.

NKF PEERS is a peer support program from the that connects people who want support with someone who has been there. For more information visit: kidney.org/patients/peers

Hi!

I’m new to the site and obviously a few months late to your post, but what a neat idea! I had kidney buddies on both hemodialysis and PD. I got a transplant last year and haven’t really been stable enough to consider relationships outside of my doctors, lol. I’d like to chat with you if you want. I’m sure you have a lot of wisdom about the transplant journey.🤗
