those who are on dialysis when you had the fistula in your arm did it hurt? What’s the process like to start dialysis through arm? Is it like a small procedure? My brother will be getting this done soon any info will help thanks

My surgery was a breeze. yes I had discomfort afterwards for a week or two. I would ice it and then heat. Just stay off of it like getting out of chairs and bed.

What Bassetmommer said. It's day surgery, and you go home, same day. You're on a lifting restriction for as long as you have the fistula. Really. Nothing to it, in the grand scheme of things.
