hi there! I’m an active 47 year old female that just found out I have a complex cyst on my right kidney (2.7cm). I started having high creatinine levels and low efgr in my bloodwork in August. Creatinine between 1.2-1.35 and efgr around 55. My metabolic panel is very closely monitored due to being on 200mg Spironolactone and autoimmune disease. I noticed the abnormalities after my Spironolactone dose was increased. My dr recently cut my dose down to 100mg and had repeat labs 3 weeks later. Numbers were slightly improved but not in normal range. Dr sent me for an ultrasound, where they found a 2.7cm complex cyst on my right kidney. Primary dr referred me to a urologist but I’m waiting to hear back from them. I have a follow up with my primary in a couple of days, but feeling pretty nervous about what this might mean. Has anyone else experienced this and what was the outcome? What kind of questions should I be asking urologist other than next steps? Anything I should be doing now (diet, exercise, etc)? Thank you!

I suggest you ask if the drug couldve had an effect after researching its possible ckd side effects as that appears to be your main concern. They are reported in some circumstances mayoclinic.org/drugs-supple... but unsure if cyst-related too.
Re nutrition & lifestyle, I believe a very healthy diet plus relevant lifestyle changes are sufficient at stage 3 rather than a restrictive, renal diet but a relevant practitioner eg Nutritional Therapist, that considers your personal case is likely best-placed to advise.
