10 years back I got Acute kidney failure due to high BP and kidney size were normal and creatinine went to 2.1 then return to 1.1. But then slowly my left kidney stopped working over period of time and found this in 3 years back. But creatine went back to 1.8 or 1.9. Renal doppler shows Left kidney only in normal size and flow pattern is not that good and Right kidney completely contracted. In last three years , creatinine dropped from 1.8 to 1.5.. Last test shows 1.5 and all other values are normal (HB-15.6, BUN-12.5, Urine tests are normal). Will continue to fail left kidney? How to stop progress this kidney problem? Please help me.

The thing about kidney disease is that it is not always the same. You may never have a problem with one kidney. But then again, things could go differently. Keep seeing a doctor and have labs drawn. Watch your symptoms and if you start to feel differently, then get a lab drawn. You say everything is normal, correct?
You could be careful with your diet. I am not sure what you eat now so I would recommend you see a dietician. There are things like less red meat that can help stave off more kidney issues. The other thing is to stay hydrated with water.
Make sure you keep your blood pressure under control and talk to your doctor to make sure the medications you are on are kidney friendly, especially BP meds.
It sounds like you are doing ok. What was you GFR?
Thanks Bassetmommer for the reply!. I am following diet (Low sodium, proiten , pottassium) , offcourse my bp is under control with medicine (less than 130/90). in my report dont get GFR value, but then based on online calculation , its 56. All other blood values are normal except creatinine, HB 15, Blood urea 25, BUN 12. my worry is left kidney is not fully working....otherwise creatinine will not rise right? The question how long able to manage this condition. But I am confident.. lets hope for the best .... Thanks once again for your reply
