I am sleeping only 5 hours at night. I can’t seem to nap during the day. Has anyone found help for this? Is it related to kidney disease? I need a good night sleep so badly!
What can I do about insomnia?: I am sleeping... - Kidney Disease
What can I do about insomnia?
I don't mean to he rude but looking back a month your GFR was 89 so perhaps stop worrying about kidney disease and read a good book.
Here is link to information on eGFR and symptoms of CKD. Sleep problems are not listed. Please contact your Primary Doctor. kidney.org/atoz/content/gfr
I'd be more than happy to interact with you but it would be nice to know whether or not you read the replies from your previous posts. We all receive a notification when there is a reply; did you read them and why not reply there? I've seen a lot of post from you asking questions but very few replies if any.
What did you try, what was the outcome? Did you use the search engine on this site?
I eat a tiny morsel of Xanax (alprazolam) shortly before bedtime. Never more than .25 milligrams. I bite the .5 in two. I don't use it all the time, only when I haven't slept well in a while. Your worrying is getting the best of you. Exercise and keep good sleep hygiene and you probably won't have to take any sleep aids.
Zeez Sleep Pebble. Look it up. Very new technology.
I very much agree with medway-lady and Michael_S. You appear to be on the hypochondriac scale, looking for diseases that you don't have, and you don't seem to take any replies seriously. You should be very glad to have the numbers your showing...my eGFR is 22. You're fortunate you're not actually suffering from serious CKD and a myriad of other serious medical issues, like so many of us have to deal with every single day. I would suggest a different forum for your complaints, as I don't believe this is where you need to be. Perhaps a mental health forum would help you deal with your imagined diseases. This is a wonderful place for people suffering the various stages of CKD to learn more about their disease, see what works for others, and appreciate the time people take to provide helpful information. We all complain from time-to-time, but from real diseases, not imaginary. I think you need to connect with friends and family, get a hobby, something else other than trying to materialize health issues that aren't there. I apologize if this appears rude, but posts like yours do this platform and the community that benefits from it a real disservice. Good luck finding ways to enjoy your life instead of complaining about non-existent health issues.
Yes my GFR is 26 so you've written just what I am thinking. I'm so sorry for anyone who is anxious but it does seem as though sometimes posts are just posted for the sake of posting.
I totally agree! I didn't mean to sound harsh, but I think they have other problems to work out elsewhere. Hope they get help. I have a relative who has been "sick" nearly all her life with one ailment or another, but somehow nothing serious ever developed...but a cold would turn into 4 weeks off work, a pain somewhere meant trips to specialists & tests, etc. She just needed the attention. Thankfully she hasn't developed any of the awful diseases she imagined, nor had any surgeries, etc. She was married and had kids, so it was some underlying need for attention I think. I wouldn't wish my health issues on anyone, even for a day, so I hope this person realizes that everyone has trouble sleeping from time-to-time, aches & pains...but it doesn't mean you are seriously ill. It would be a miracle to sleep well every night, wouldn't it??!! Have a wonderful day medway-lady!
And you nascar and a lovely Christmas as well. I just wish I had a GFR of 89 ! xx
She posts on the dialysis forum and asks them questions there as well. I don't know why she's allowed to continue posting.
I didn't know that, but I'm not surprised. She's probably found forums for her new insomnia issue too, and who knows what else. Why would she post on dialysis with a great eGFR? I agree she should be removed. The moderator did send her a message, but somehow I doubt she'll think it pertains to her. Unfortunately, I don't have the capacity to feel sorry for her, other than I hope she gets some mental health assistance. Life with disease is very hard, as you well know, so why make stuff up? Seems like she needs to be grateful to be bodily healthy and find an outlet that will stimulate the good things in her life. A friend, family, a hobby, a pet, something that will take up time so she has less time to feel sorry for herself and more time to enjoy this wonderful gift of life we've been given. Have a great weekend please Sophiebun11.
I'd be very interested to know if you have ever checked out any of the many links you've been given. You've asked dozens of questions and continue to inquire about the same things many have responded to. If your eGFR is 89, it is highly unlikely any of the symptoms you question are kidney disease related. We don't diagnose here. Have you spoken to your own doctors about all of your concerns? Have you sought counseling? Have you joined a local support group? And again have you utilized ANY of the wonderful links shared for your assistance?
What is it you're most worried about? Having kidney disease? Why, when your results show otherwise? Why are you not believing or trusting your test results and physician's assessment? Is COVID restrictions making you fearful? Do you have family, friends, church or neighbors you can reach out to for comfort? Why do you ask questions over and over but don't respond to those or reply to answers, links given for your benefit?
EXCELLENT!! Thank you for stepping in, and providing the exact feedback that appears to be much-needed.
This is such a good community...it's a shame to waste it's resources on someone who does not suffer this disease, apparently wants no help, nor need it based on health worries rather than actual disease. I agree that family, friends, hobby, and mental health assistance is what is required.
