CKD health/diet changes and information
Many of us with CKD have been put on prescribed diets by their Doctor and/or Dietitian. This is based on not only your eGFR but other blood work. such as sodium, potassium, phosphorus and/or protein. I am at stage 3b and plan and track my prescribed diet. Davita is a good source for recipes and they have them for CKD non dialysis and dialysis.
Hi, Curiouskay, It is wonderful that you are researching sites for ckd information on diets.
Meeting with a dietitian made a huge and worthwhile difference for me with my ckd diagnosis because he provided a meal planning guide that greatly simplified my efforts.
Kidneyschool.org is a website that provides learning modules that are easily understood and confidence boosting. Especially helpful for me was the module on learning to interpret kidney lab scores. By charting the lab results from one lab test to another with stage 3, I can quickly determine which values like potassium or phosphorous, etc that need modification.
Each patient is different and along with the helpful Davita site, orangecity41 mentioned, I hope you'll seek out the help of a dietitian for an individually tailored plan for your specific needs. Best wishes to you and hope you'll keep us informed on your progress.
