That’s wonderful news!! I’m so glad you’re now in stage two.

Can I ask you if you ate any protein at all like a egg white omelette. ? I would be so interested to know as that’s the only protein I get and I get very hungry. My GFR is 63 dropped from 68 and I have gone on a plant based diet. I would be interested to know what you eat if you don’t mind sharing?

😊

I use the diet and nutrition help from davita.com. It has helped me. You can also do diet tracking and planning. They have good recipes also. Select the recipes for CKD and not the dialysis recipes.

Thanks, I do eat Only egg white an added mushrooms, Spinach, lots of Red Bell pers an Red onions.. as the egg white alone won’t keep you full. As for the GFR increased water, add cucumbers or Lemon juice to give it a better tase , I drank 3 cups of tea a day an 2 Litters of water ... more Liquids to Flush your Kidneys. Increased my GFR to 77... You can try it. As Mr kidneys say everything don’t work the same for everybody. It cost nothing to try. God Luck stay safe. Gemcar13

How frequently have you been asked to take blood test to monitor creatinine and what does your doctor feel, will this remain stable as long as you continue with your diet?

Yes, as long as you watch what you eat and drink water... it the to reduce the creatinine and increase the GFR .. it’s what helped me... my doctors are now doing. Blood work every 4 months. Good luck stay safe.

I see such conflicting reports. Some say drinking water and diet while decreases your creatinine, it does not mean your kidney are working better. Some say you are actually causing you kidneys to work harder when you drink a lot of water.

Yeah. I started about a month ago. Kaiser don't tell you anything...had to figure things out. I'll have a portion of chicken or fish once a week, must mostly plant based stuff. Lots of water. Went from GFR of 25 to 40 this week. Electrolytes good.

I keep plugging away at it. I watch the Advice guy too

If you were stage 3 with creatine at 122 does anyone know what mine is at 148

Gemcar13 profile image
Gemcar13 in reply toMKMH

Look at your Labs Results and it gives you the Range as to what your GFR is , I had to do research to see what CKD stage I was in then my nephrology confirm it to me that I went from creatinine 122 To 97 which the Dr’s said am now in stage 2 CKD . Hope this helps you..
