I am 64 years old female and was diagnosed with CKD 11 years ago. I have a blood test and the flu jab every year. Can I ask if I am 'at RISK' and receive a letter from the government during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Many thanks

Hi Lelly,
In these days of uncertainty, sadly we are all at risk to contract the Corona Virus; having
any pre-existing condition puts us at a higher risk.
Airing on the side of caution and following the rules specified by the CDC and also your individual state are imperative.
Sanitizing, washing your hands frequently and well, disinfecting counters, light switches etc. are key. Sheltering at home is mandated here; safest for any of us.
Most importantly social distancing with a mask, or scarf if you go out and hopefully gloves. Avoiding sick people and sanitizing, sanitizing ! Washing when you get home . I am sure that you know what is recommended.
Please take good care of yourself - following the guidelines, especially if you are on medications is the best gift that you can give yourself.
Reach out to any of us at any time as we will always reach back.
Bet
So far I am still working in health care field. I do not want to stop working. I am following all the guidelines to stay safe plus getting plenty of rest and following a good diet. If where I work starts to get positive cases I may need to ask my doctor to give me a work excuse. I hope it doesn't come to that.
Higher risk of Covid 19.
Its a popular misconception that we are at higher risk of getting Covid 19. It would be really helpful if people/ governments and medics would stop perpetuating this erroneous message.
NO one is any more or less likely of getting Covid 19 than anyone else, regardless of any health issues you might have or not have.
Covid 19 does not seek out the in firmed or immune suppressed of us. It takes it's chances with anyone who has a mouth, eyes and nose.
That is everyone!
HOWEVER, If you are unlucky enough to contract Covid 19 you are more vulnerable to it's effects with a compromised immune system that will struggle to fight it off.
Some CKD people will do better than others, but not as well as a healthy person.
This is the higher risk or vulnerability, not the contracting of Covid 19.
