Thanks for member responses to Kidney Friendly Diet

I can read until blue in the face but nothing beats hearing from real members who list foods that are working well on their individ. renal diets. Just read member tips and I used the super food list over this 1st month along with others listed by members. Really just shooting in the dark and hoping for the best. Lab results improved. Yes! I think those who are living with a malady are often the very best "experts".

Many of us with CKD have different diets depending on certain blood levels like sodium, potassium and/or phosphorus. Best to check with your Doctor on what diet fits you and consider making an appointment with a dietitian.

Thanks Orange, noted earlier you mentioned some slow to refer to renal dietician until stage 4; I will pursue finding renal or even reg. diet. because that help could make all the diff in managing diet and adding "healthy" calories.

There is more evidence that a plant-based diet can be optimum for kidney health. Of course, work with a dietitian on this, but plant protein is much easier to handle than animal protein by your kidneys. Good luck!
