I am wondering if anyone has advice or experience on a good kidney diet tracker please. I have been using the davita diet tracker for the past 6 months in conjunction with dietetics input and its been invaluable and made a real difference to managing diet. but Davita have now changed the tool !!! Grrr and it doesnt track now only analyses individual food items. There doesnt seem to a UK equivalent but I could just not have found it yet . Any reccomendations anyone please?
thank you

I absolutely love Cronometer. There is a free version, but I use the pay version which allows me to set my daily targets for key nutrients (Sugar, Fiber, Protein, Potassium, Phosphorus, Calcium, B9, B12, Iron, etc.) and allows all of my doctors to access my data and graphs in real time online. My renal dietitian can easily check in on me and make suggestions. I've been using it since I was Stage 5 and still use it today at Stage 3 to keep my nutrition in check. It was also a huge help for getting my Anemia under control and getting back my energy (since I could monitor Iron, B9, B12, and vitamin C). Another good option is to see what your renal dietitian recommends - when he/she is familiar with the app they can help you even more.
Mits feee but is linked directly to the ISDA database. It gives full nutritional data for anything including packaged stuff like almond milk. You just take a picture of the item bar code and the app will give you the total nutritional information on a serving of the item. You can also enter names of fruits and vegetables (fresh) and it will give you full nutritional information. It has entrees from many restaurants as well. I’ve entered favorite family recipes. It will then calculate full nutritional information per serving. It tends to be more accurate than my fitness pal.
I don't use one that tracks my daily amounts per say, but I just found recently an app called My Healthy Kidney and it helps me know, especially phosphorus in foods. It might allow for tracking, but I am not sure. You could do a spread sheet or just add the info to a note keeper on your phone. I have a Fitbit for calories and basic nutrition amounts, like protein, but it doesn't tell me sodium, or phosphorus.
