Newly Dx IGA Nephropathy

I just recently had my kidney biopsy done and heard from my nephrologist today that the preliminary results indicate IGA nephropathy. Just looking for any info/personal experiences from others with this Dx. I have an appointment with him next month to talk tx plan. I am already taking high blood pressure meds, including a small dose diuretic and a statin.

What is your current egfr? I also have igan. Had it for about 20 years, with the last 10 having high blood pressure. My egfr fell to around 10 in June and I started PD dialysis.

Igan can have very different progression rate between different individuals. Medications also depend on how active is your inflammation and protein leak.

Thanks for sharing your experience. My eGFR is within normal limits at 106. I am already on meds for bp and that has helped lower the protein in my urine but it is still elevated.

Hey, i m in the same boat with my partner just diagnosed IgaN ... just looking for some advice and experience too. He is fit and healthy now but we scared of how this condition will affect him in future since he s only 37.

So true... it is very stressful. Knowing everything else is very healthy with him and this came out of blue... hope you will get some good news soon
