New Treatment for IGA Nephropathy

I have IGA Nephropathy and am always looking for new treatment options. I recently found Tarpeyo (budesonide) was approved by the FDA for IAG patients and the studies looks pretty promising. Have any of you taken this or heard about it? If not, no need to remind us all that there is no "magic pill" or to "talk to our docs first". Really just wanting to know if anybody knows anything more than what I have been able to find on google.

Hi MPStilwell,Yes Tarpeyo is a new FDA approved treatment for IGAN. I have seen discussions among group members who are currently on Tarpeyo on its its impact in the IGAN foundations FB page. They have also listed clinical trials and other treatments in the pipeline. You may want to take a look at the site.

I recommend the iga Nephropathy Facebook group. There’s lots of discussion on meds including tarpeyo

So no one on here has taken this drug? My doc is saying I need to be leaking more protein to be eligible to take this... But he knew all about it. Kind of strange no one on here is on it or has taken it?

It is expensive and some insurance comp might not cover it because it is so new

hi- did you ever get more info on this? I was just prescribed this and will start it in the next few days. Looking for any/all info from anyone who has had to be on it. Side effects sound less than desirable to say the least.
