I'm age 64, never done a social media, and have stage 4 CKD. Thankfully I'm not on any dialysis yet. I'm hoping I can avoid it with diet. Looking forward to chatting with the group.
Hello All: I'm age 64, never done a social... - Kidney Disease
Hello All
Wellcome to social media Peachcobbler9 ,i think you can prolonge your stage 4 ckd by diet regulation but you have to tell us more about the reason of your kidney disease. Glade to chat with you.
I'm fairly new to social media too but thought I'd give this a try.
I'm low stage IV right now. My kidneys were stable at stage IIIB for about 4 years. They suddenly dropped from approximately 32% function to 11% function last December. My nephrologist has managed to pull them back to low stage IV (approximately 15% function).
I'm thankful to have this much function back but realize that stage V is likely coming. I'm 64 years old and single so no partner to provide care. I'm still working and hope to work until I'm 70 years old.
I'm hoping for support as I begin wrapping my brain around the reality of dialysis.
