There has been an outpouring of support and you guys are the best. Thanks so much for your kind words and encouragement, ideas and suggestions. I read and reread the posts and they give me a lift each time I do. I'm so happy I found this site!

Last night broke down and I cried for a long time. My husband found me and held me. He wants me to go back to my nephrologist this month even though I'm not scheduled for another appt until this fall. I don't know if it will help except to ask him about my other meds and if they are ok. It's sinking in that this isn't going away. I'm not sure how to wrap my head around that. My mind constantly thinks about it. Thanks for being beside me on this rollercoaster!

I can relate to your feelings! Sometimes it just hits you like a ton of bricks. Know that you’re not alone in this. We’re all in the same boat. Try to take it Day by day. It’s when I look at the long term that it gets me down. Now I’m just trying to make the most of every day. Hope this helps! Prayers for you. God can do anything 😀

Hugatree,

Your feelings are absolutely normal. Allow yourself to feel them. When you hear the words "kidney issue" they come as a shock.

I am glad that your husband saw your pain last night and gave you the support that you have needed.

Just a thought, ask your husband to join you at your next nephrologist appointment and hear first hand what this is all about, the steps to keep you as healthy as possible and limit to stop progression. Knowledge is power!

My husband joins me at all nephrology appointments; he listens and scribes the discussion for me in a notebook, but the decisions are mine.

It hopefully will help and his support will be there

Be gentle on him and yourself.

Know that we are all care..

Reach out..

B.
