Time to lose weight, usually try to start on a Monday but that never works so I'll try a Wednesday.

Judging by your title, name and the content of your post, it sounds as if you may have been a bit of a yoyo dieter in the past and maybe a complete change is in order? Try to think of this as the start of your new healthy lifestyle, not another diet which is unsustainable. You're right, in that doing the same thing each time and expecting a different result surely can't work. Maybe changing the day you start might be the big change you're looking for but may I suggest you try using the Daily Diary as well.
Welcome aboard ! Try to see this as the final time that you "start a diet" and moreso as the first day of your new healthy lifestyle. Lose the weight in the same way that you intend to maintain. For most of us it means wholesome unprocessed food in sensible portions, so that we feel satisfied not hungry, and still lose weight. The links from moreless explains further.
