Since the new year I been told I got diabetes type 2 I got this under control ( no cake crisp biscuits cut out white bread only having sweetened in tea but have 2 half spoon sugar on my breakfast),since having diabetes I am on 2x1000 mg sukkarto a-day. I now started to gain weight I put on 1 and half stone since the new year doctors and not bothered about it, I know the tablets can cause weight loss but not gain, the doctors and diabetic nurse blame my Lymphoedema but I never hear or seen anything on line about it causing weight gain.
Any help would be nice
Thank you.

We are not medically trained here, so I am afraid I can't give you any medical advice. How frustrating for you. Is it possible to see a different Doctor to discuss this with?
Also, take a look at our What's Happening thread to see all the activities that we have on offer for you to join in with. We have found that participation is key to weight loss. I am sure that you will find something here to help to keep you motivated and involved with the forum ,
Lymphoedema is when the fluid doesn't drain from your body properly, so the part(s) of your body affected, are carrying excess fluid. That in itself would be enough to cause weight gain.
I would really advise logging your menus on the daily diary, so that we can offer some advice about your meal choices. For example, if you're having sugar on your breakfast, that suggests you're eating cereal and probably a better choice, for someone with Type 2 Diabetes, would be eggs.
