Hi,

Has anyone here who have finished the 12 weeks programme has gained weight after? I just want to make sure this one is not one of those yo-yo diet plans.

Hi Morvarid

I have been losing weight for 6 years now, so haven't ever used the 12 week plan.

However, I know once I got to my target weight (having lost 4.5 stone), I regained quite a lot of weight again (1.5 stone) as I just stopped logging and possibly my portion sizes crept up, plus I had quite a few holidays one after another.

I wasn't surprised at the weight gain, as I knew exactly why it had happened!

I am sure that others on here who are maintaining after finishing the 12 weeks will have lots of answers and support for you on this one!

Hi Morvarid .

I think it is us humans that are the yoyoers not the diets. No plan will keep weight off if we then go back to our old ways if that makes sense. We then get in to a vicious cycle of on and off dieting.

The NHS bmi calculator will tell you how many calories a day you can eat to lose weight based on your age height weight and activity level. If you are eating the right amount you shouldn't be hungry.

The aim of the 12 Week plan is to change eating habits permanently, the weekly emails encourage changes that should carry on after the 12 weeks. Although many of our members repeat the 12 weeks until they reach their goal weight.

At the end of the day, if you return to the eating habits that caused the weight gain you won’t maintain the loss, but we are here for everyone, those losing weight and those manintaing 😊

Hi, I lost a stone in my first 12 weeks and am still following the principles of the plan while picking up new ideas, and still losing slowly.

If you treat it like a diet and decide to do it for 12 weeks than go back to your former pattern of eating, the one that led you to being overweight, then I should think it's highly likely that you'd regain.

If you use the 12 weeks to absorb new ideas, try new ways of eating, challenge your assumptions about yourself, find a new outlook on life, enjoy how it makes you feel and look, then there's less chance of you wanting to revert to previous habits. In which case, your weight should gradually shift to where it's supposed to be for a healthy you :)

Hi I took me 4 months to loose just under 2 stone so I continued with the NHS weight plan until I got to my target weight. I have been maintaining now for 11 months and though I have increased my calories from 1400/day to 1875-1900/day I still follow the principles of the weight loss plan and refer back to it every now and then, especially if I am having a night out and cannot get online access to the menu to remind me of foods to avoid- ensuring I leave myself with approx 1000 calories for the meal out so even if I am over the damaged is limited. Hope that helps
