Taking back my life!

I have joined weightwatchers about 6 times over the last 15 years - sometimes successful, sometimes not. The end of 2017 sees me exhausted, breathless, slowly withdrawing from social events, menopausal, snoring heavily, high blood pressure (but avoiding medication just yet), an extremely limited wardrobe and (the last straw) being told that a small operation I need may have to be performed at a different hospital because they only treat people with a BMI limit of 35. So the facts are : my BMI is 39.2 and if it gets to 40 I will be classed as morbidly obese 🤤. I feel disgusted. Yesterday I gave away 3 boxes of Christmas chocolates and re started the nitro bullet. I have just found this website and want to join a weekly weigh in (to lose 8 stone) but can't see how to do this from my mobile - can anyone tell me how I can join weigh in and other challenges as I know the support is what I need and am too embarrassed to join ww yet again!

Hi and welcome, Larumbera :)

You've done the best thing you could, by joining us here. It's all free and the support is 24/7 and second to none :)

You can navigate the forum, using a mobile, but don't use the HU App, use the full website page.

I'd like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out. If you just post a few words to introduce yourself and respond to others there, you'll soon break the ice. Here's the link

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

You'll find all the information you need to navigate the forum in the header, so please take the time to read it carefully.

Wishing you all the best :)

I can sympathise about menopausal weight gain, but weight loss is possible we just need to realise we need less food than earlier in our lives. 😕

You have made an excellent start passing on chocolates, (why do we get so many?)

Have a good look around the forum, especially at the link Moreless gave you, and please ask if you have any questions

Best wishes

Anna

Hello Larumbera . For me, the beauty of this lovely, friendly, supportive forum is that you can be a full, active member and get the support without anyone seeing you, for those times when you want that.

If you follow the links moreless has sent you, you'll find your way to the daily weigh-in, daily diary and everything else on this site. Put those past disappointments behind you, start putting some changes in place and I'm sure you'll soon start seeing progress :)

I use my laptop. From comments I've seen on here, the app seems a bit more complicated. You find the weigh-in on the Home page under Events.

I am on the website, not the app but accessingnit via my mobile as I am out and about a lot so need to use phone. I have just managed to follow a Tuesday weigh in group by scrolling to the bottom of the screen so I guess I just post my weight on there every week?

You've got it. Post your starting weight today and you can say what your first target is if you want. Then each week post your previous week's weight and your new one, so the admins can put the statistics together. Read other people's posts and give them some feedback and they will do the same for you.

You're on your way!
