I Gained 1lb… ⁉ 🐷

I gained a pound, which I'm baffled by.

To give you a rundown, I have been losing since I started journalling on Saturday. I reached my lowest weight yesterday, which was 253.8lbs. I woke up this morning, and I'm back up to 254.8lbs, which is frustrating.

It confuses me, because on Monday, I had takeaway and chocolate cake, yet wake up 1.4lbs lighter. Then, I eat healthily on Tuesday, and wake up 1lb heavier today.

Do you think it could be water? I only had about 1 litre of drink on Monday, but had 2 litres yesterday.

I have found when I eat a bad meal or snack, I will bloat up with water weight in a few days. It's not always immediate. It will take a few days of good eating to go back down. The more water you drink the quicker the bloating will go down.

Try not to become obsessed with the scales. Why not choose one day a week to weigh then you don't get freaked out by fluctuations which are unpredictable and usually temporary. Good luck.

Your weight can fluctuate over the week and it can depend on what you have eaten or the exercise you have done. I always take the weigh in day as my weight even though during the week my weight may change.

Weight fluctuates daily. :) as long as overall there is a downward trend that's the main thing. I weigh myself whenever I want to during the week out of curiosity but only "count" my Saturday weigh in :) I am 2lb heavier today than yesterday but I've been being super good so I know this is my body trying to torture me so I'm ignoring it lol. On Saturday I expect to have either lost half to one pound or at least stay the same as last Saturday! Try not to take day to day changes too much to heart as long as the numbers edge downwards over all :)

I don't think you're doing yourself any favours, DiZia , by weighing every day, for the reason other posters have given.

Maybe focus on the changes you need to make for a healthy lifestyle and the rest will follow. Taking a longer view is likely to be more productive and less anxiety provoking.

I never have understood how you can be good and put weight on.

This next week will be a good one for you .
