I over bought fruit and yesterday it needed to be thrown out or used So I made my first smoothie ever !! Ive bought them but never made 1 So in the jug went the 4 cherries 5 plums 1 kiwi 1 apricot and 2 satsumas 20 seconds of blending I looked at this "mess" in the jug and curiosity got the better of me so I took a sip - Wow it was good ! I can now use up any leftover fruit and I shall be trying vegetables too This is certainly a learning curve for me !!

you can add yogurt to make it creamier as well

Or water to make it less fattening !!! Ok was given a nitro Bullet for Christmas and I haven't looked back! Fantastic things!

We are never too late to learn Milliemay1 😊

Quick tip: blend it before you put the kiwi in, then add them at the end for a quick blitz, they blend very easily and the seeds can get bitter 😊

Thanks Anna, I didn't know that.

Brilliant and you got more than your 5 a day in one drink too!👍

My friend adds all sorts of stuff in hers including cottage cheese one thing I haven't yet tried.

Good luck experimenting😊

Let me know if you decide to try it, sounds horrible but my friend just loves it.😊

I am a little but hesitant i must say - but logically it will add protein and I don't think you will get the cheese taste. Just might have a go at it!

Yes my friend is borderline diabetic and her mum was diabetic so she's low carb, high protein, I threw out a tub of half eaten cottage cheese yesterday I should have given it a whirl😜

Well you know what to do next time you have cottage cheese to spare!

thats an interesting idea to try. I suppose you get cottage cheese with pineapple etc, it does go with fruit

I so agree with you Milliemay1 smoothies are delicious, and you decide what goes in, and you get the benefit of the fibre too. Need to remember to think about the calories of course as you might not have rated all of that fruit in one go if it hade not been made into a smoothie.

Sounds great!

Thanks for all your ideas re my newly acquired skill of smoothie making I am counting the calories of the ingredients and I will certainly be trying the yoghurt and cottage cheese idea I will maybe add some different spices too cinnamon / nutmeg depending on the contents
