Well done for putting in all that effort! You are most likely redistributing the pounds of fat into pounds of muscle.

The scales will therefore show the same weight, but a firm toned body is a far healthier way to be.

Take measurements with a tape measure and you will see where you have lost the fat from.

As you have lost those 5lbs, that is a great start. Combine the exercise schedule with a high protein and low carb & low sugar diet. If the weight still doesn't shift, get a calorie counting app like myfitnesspal or nutracheck, and those will make sure you are not overdoing the portion sizes or unwittingly taking calories in drinks etc. The NHS 12 Week guide is a good way to make sure you are eating the right foods. It is great that you feel well, so you must be getting used to a healthier lifestyle; you can do it!

You are doing a fantastic job with your exercise regime and no wonder you are getting fitter and getting smaller! Being healthy is much more important than the number on your scales, but I can understand your frustration if the scales won't budge after all of your efforts. Take heart from the knowledge that many athletes are quite heavy for their height because of their muscular, toned bodies but they are, of course, very healthy indeed despite the extra weight.

I would suggest that, as well as your exercise plan, check the BMI calculator on the NHS 12 week plan and try to stick to the lower end of the suggested calorie range. You may need to weigh foods to start off with because it is very hard to judge portion sizes accurately.

You are half way there with your lifestyle changes and now your exercise is well established maybe you can make some healthy changes to your diet and start thinking about portion control. Good luck x
