Welcome fluffsmum :-) Im a newbie too as off last week. I also have around 3 stone I'd like to lose and can be a bit of an emotional eater. The first step is getting out there and deciding to move forwards to become healthier and you've done that so yeah! As for advice, for me it's about calorie restriction, my f fitness pal was a revelation to me! And moving more. I've joined a hard core gym and, apart from this week, am going three times a week and trying to hit 10,000 steps a day. So I guess they're all relatively small, achievable goals which together can make a big difference. Have you looked up the NHS 12 week plan? That should give you loads of ideas and links to assess what your calorie range should be. Most people on this site are using it and there are loads of support threads. Not sure if this helps but good luck!
