I have just turned 43 and I am starting to ask myself those questions: how should I feel?, what big changes are there ahead of me just before the big 50?
I am planning to keep track of all priorities and challenges in my life for the next 2 years including health and fitness goals, plan for the following 5 years.
It seems that I am actually planning for a long and important trip, and that failure is not in the cards, by all standards. I need to win this, the trip has to be a success.
I have just realized though that I don't k w how to start, I have never taken a big trip in my life, never planned for my own goals.

Thanks to the welcoming messages, I guess that when health and wellbeing are concerned, we shouldnt take less than 100% success. I am getting accustomed with he calories calculator from NHS website, marvelous tool, makes you think deep about food choices. I intend that by the end of next week, to be familiar with the portions and calories of 90% of my regular menu (though a normal weekly intake). I did have sme revelations regarding the calories I should have each day and the calories were hiding behind innnocent "treats". Its actually a matter of choices, budgeting health as budgeting money.
Hi Winnipeg, welcome to this lovely forum. I suggest that you read the newbies pack carefully and follow all the links so that you can find your way around this site.
I found joining the Daily Diary and the weekly weigh in to be extremely useful.
If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
