We Are Fighters And We Are Amazing!

We Are Fighters And We Are Amazing!

Think about it.

How many hundreds, how many THOUSANDS of times has your fat self sat on the lounge, opened up the biscuits and turned on the TV, content and full and purring and drifting into a food coma.

And how many times has your thin self woken up, thought "ENOUGH!!!" and thrown on the joggers, made that healthy snack and written a diet plan for the week.

Sometimes it feels like all we ever do is knock ourselves down but thats not the point.

The point is we are ALL here because we refuse to stay down, because we will not let other people decide how we feel and we will not keep allowing advertising and marketing to tell us that we will feel so much better of we just cram that chocolate bar down our throat and don't worry about the fact that we just ate a whole days calories in one sitting!

The point is that no matter whether depression or tragedy or emotional eating sucks us in and we medicate ourselves with food eventually we stop, we steel our will and we start again.

The point is that we fight back over and over again, no matter how many times we get defeated we refuse to give in and we fight back because one day we WILL get to where we want to be.

We are fighters.

And we are amazing!

Have a great day all!

  • Thanks. Nothing changes in the past, the future is in my hands. I am trying to stay in the present, which is where the future is born.

Good luck and thanks again for your inspiring words.

  • I love that Norni! That quote is going in my diary! 😊

  • I love that saying too - beautifully put :)

  • Well put, your right onwards and upwards...

  • Cause the alternative doesn't bear thinking about

  • I love your post. I should print it off. This is just me. Good luck today x

  • That made me feel really good to read. Thanks glad I helped in my own little way to inspire.

  • You're right Dave, we are all here because we keep trying, even when there's stretches of time where it doesn't feel like motivation is good. My hope for all of us is that we can find ways of coping with tough times without the food we don't need. β˜€οΈ

  • Mine too - only we know how much heart ache we endure on this journey

  • I realised that I have been doing the 12 week plan for nearly 5 months now.

  • No matter how often we have barriers put in our way we throw them aside and start again :)

  • A stirring speech! We will fight them in the fridges, we will fight them in the aisles..........I am with you on this one Dave!

  • Ha ha - I feel VERY Winston :D

  • "DO or DO NOT. There is no TRY"

    Yoda

  • Wise one you are.

  • Fab post Dave,

You always hit the nail on the headπŸ˜ƒ I can feel and hear your restart button pressed and you sound ready for the next battle!! Well I'm tight there with you honeybun πŸ˜ƒ

    Let battle commence !!

  • Thanks FLoss and yes I feel like the reset button has been hit and the bad trot I had with my meds is (hopefully) finally done. I am not be eating right all the time yet but I wake up ready to fight instead of groaning about another day :)

  • You never groan Dave, you just say it how it is πŸ˜ƒ

  • Thanks Dave. Positive mental attitude :) Can I suggest that we think about releasing weight rather than losing it? Losing suggests to our subconscious that its something we need to get back. I'm going to try a little ditty every time I walk somewhere, "I release my weight with every step I take." Can't do any harm and may just do some good :)

  • That's a really good idea - get the feeling our blubber is trapped and just needs to be set free. Will try it myself "fly free little fat cells".

  • LOL!

  • 5 times fast! :D

  • I like that :)

  • Truly spoken, Dave

We can't give up and we won't! We will become stronger and we will fall down, but there are so many people in this amazing place to help us up 😊

  • Thats why I keep coming back - because of people like you :)

  • Glad you are taking small steps into the right direction again 😊

Don't beat yourself up over slip ups and snapped elastics πŸ˜‰ you will soon get the upper hand of Bert again, one small battle at a time 😊

  • Upbeat, thanks

  • Yo Dave. Well said.

  • Amen to that. Our minds can be our own worst enemies at times and our best and most supportive friends at others. To dwell on what has gone and can never be changed is fruitless and damaging, tomorrow will always be tomorrow and again is fruitless to worry about. Right now, today, this minute - this is the battle to fight and win. How amazing we are as living beings, complex and simple at the same time. Revel in the fact we are unique, each and everyone of us - totally unique. Have a fab week Dave, in everyway. 😊
