Morning all - where do the weeks go and here we are, the last Monday November before the evils of December (well for weight loss anyway)
Thank you all for concerns over my knee - I went to evening spin last Monday and I have to say it probably did it some good, it would be the knee that i normally have trouble with wouldnt it? still it managed the usual round of exercise classes and managed 13k on Sunday as we crack on with training for the Paris Marathon in April
Never mind that weigh in time my weight this week - 11st 2lb a pound on๐ and really the reason I have was that I just didn't try hard enough and succumbed to cake and chocolate and I have my first xmas meal out this week it serves me right - I will have to be more careful and look at the calories on mince pies and miniature heros before I pop them in my mouth!
A great thread last week and lots of support and good ideas as usual the fabulous Ruth has put together our stats which are as follows -
Total people posting on last Monday's thread: 57
Total overall weight lost: 72.9 pounds (33 kilos)
Total people who lost weight: 38 (81.7 pounds lost) (37 kilos)
Total people who gained weight: 9 (8.8 pounds gained) (4 kilos)
Total people who maintained their weight: 2
Total people starting out on their weight loss journey/plan: 7
Total people who didn't disclose their weight gain/loss: 1

Thank you for posting the thread again today! I'm glad to hear your knee is better. And it's good to see you positive and determined regarding your weight gain. I believe your aim at the moment is to maintain right? So one pound gain isn't too bad I'm assuming.
Well this morning I was 79.2kg. So compared to last week's 80.3kg that's a 2.4 pounds loss. I'm sooo happy. My losses start to become visible even though I do wear quite large clothing still lol. I have lost 21.5 pounds in those 12 weeks and I am starting week 13.
Also I passed my theory driving test on Friday, which I only got the idea to do during those 12 weeks, thanks to increased confidence! I did my 3 30mins runs this week too.
I have started another thing: cutting off eating food at 8pm to "fast" till 7am, and trying to go to bed at 10pm to increase my sleep pattern.
I really feel my health is benefitting overall I am so pleased I started this journey!
Nussaybah, what can I say? You've done it again! You are a star!! 2.4lbs down for a total loss of 21.5lbs is fantastic! Not to mention smashing your running and your theory test. There's just no stopping you!
Go you NB - I have watched your progress these last 12 weeks and I have been very impressed with what you have achieved - and all the other 'fringe' benefits as well!! I am so pleased for you - and I am also encouraged by your progress - and it has motivated me - although I am no where near your 21 pounds
Glad to hear your knee's holding up, but not so glad to hear about your 1lb gain after scoffing the mince pies and miniature heroes Not to worry, Christmas is coming and if we can't have a little slip now, when can we?
Well, it's my week 12 weigh-in today and I was desperately hoping to have achieved my 2st loss. However, it wasn't to be Not to worry though, cos I lost 1.25lbs this week for a total loss of 27lbs Not too shabby if I say so myself
Congratulations on reaching week 12 moreless and on your weight loss this week. It's such a fantastic achievement to have lost 27 lbs over the course of the 12 weeks and it goes without saying you rocked it girl We are both just 1 lb away from reaching a milestone so let's make sure we do it together at our next weigh in hun.
Great result and I know how hard it is to lose even 1 lb so to get 1.25 lbs is great Onwards and downwards
Wow Moreless you're finishing your 12 weeks too, 27lbs??!! And I'm happy with my 21,5? Wow you should definitely celebrate and do not worry about that little pound bugging you, it will have disappeared by the time you say "I have done it!".
Moreless, A great result despite it not quite being the one you want, it will come and we well all be here to celebrate with you 27lb in 12 weeks fantastic result and here's to the next 12 my friend ๐
Hey all and good to hear about your knee Prin congratulations to everyone who's sticking around here and still trying to stick to their new way of life and welcome to any newbies!,
So that's week 5 of the weightloss complete for me now
Starting weight = 123.2kg
Week 1 = 117.8kg
Week 2 = 116.0kg
Week 3 = 114.6kg
Week 4 = 113.1kg
Week 5 = 112.4kg
Once again a week without any exercise BUT this week I'm starting my half marathon plan so got some walks planned in the region of 25-30mins 4 times this week!
Aim is still to be running the half marathon in Edinburgh in May (if anyone fancies joining me give me a shout)
Missed the 1kg this week by only losing 0.7kg so target this week is 1.3kg
And still aiming for target weight of 100kg
Remember if you fall off the wagon get up, dust yourself off and get back on it - feeling sorry for yourself just doesn't work
Lol yea I ran the Loch Ness Marathon in 2012 before illness and injury got me - aiming for Half Mara in Edinburgh in May, Loch Ness Mara in September and if everything goes to plan Ultra G2E in May 2017
Well I am still under goal and still trying to learn how to maintain. Ditched myfitnesspal this week as I am so aware of calories now and need to relax a bit.
Lost a kg . (Now 53.9) so under my 55 to 57 kg goal. I guess with Christmas fast approaching it gives me Lea way.
I enjoy eating anything I fancy when out but stick to healthy food the rest of the time. It seems to be working.
Booked my flights to Mauritius yesterday so that is great incentive to keep the weight off. Even looked at buying a bikini.... who would have thought?
Not underweight as such I have a bmi of22.4 (over half way in the healthy weight band) but I am lighter than I have been as an adult and am happy to be in the 55 to 57 kg band.
Oh and married to a lovely Mauritian .....now that was a good move!
Loving these positve vibes, I was just reading your too thin post, just ignore them, I think people get used to you looking a certain way it took around a year for people to get used to this is me - and no I am not going back to my old weight! Enjoy your new body and that bikini๐
...Good morning earlybirds. Boo to the weight gain Prin - but you know where the downfall is....:-). April Marathon - twas thinking about this morning and wondering where you were in your training plan - now i know. Take it easy on that knee.
for me had a very good week seemingly - have lost 1.5 pounds - I am now 2.5 pounds away from going into the 11s this is the lowest weight in a year for me- I am feeling very pleased- and it is starting to show. I have another stone and a half to shift - which i will do at around a pound week
good luck everyone --1 Dec - have my first xmas party Thurs!!!
I can't remember my last weight I logged but I'd probably put it to a pound loss for the week. This morning I weighed in at 11st 7lbs. One pound away from a healthy BMI. I'm thrilled. I started beginning of September, and have lost an even stone. I still want to lose another stone or so, but I'm really pleased with the progress I've made.
I haven't been perfect. I've been offered the odd chocolate here and there and I have taken them, but the difference is I don't buy anything I'm not happy to have in the house. Having one chocolate when offered is one thing, buying a whole bag and eating them in one sitting is quite another. It's taken me a while to get this whole moderation thing!
I set myself a goal in another thread of being 11st 3lbs for Xmas. I think that's a but ambitious now, but I'd love to just have that other pound off so I can say I'm no longer officially overweight. It's a long time coming.
There are lots of things you're to be congratulated for Spader - a 1lb loss this week (probably), a 1st loss overall, being 1lb away from a healthy BMI and learning abut moderation, which is something I'm still struggling with
You've done so well, no wonder you're pleased and do you know what, I bet you could still hit your Christmas target
Stayed the same this week but fighting an ear infection making it so can't exercise think I have done well so proud of myself proving I must be doing something right food wise lol
You're quite right to be proud of yourself Emma, maintaining whilst you're suffering with an ear infection is no mean feat, so well done you and hope you're feeling better really soon
Good to hear the knee didn't stop you from exercising this week. Those tasty treats didn't help though, but we all need a treat every now and then. With the Christmas celebrations on there way and office parties, meals out with friends or family dinners Christmas will be a trying time for all of us. I am off over the xmas period so hoping to hit the gym everyday when it is open just to burn off some off the meals which have been planned. I hope I don't gain, but if I do then it's just one of those things, but will definitely do my best to reach my weight loss goals by the new yr.
Your 13k run is very impressive WOW and your running in the Paris marathon that's is amazing and very impressive well done Prin x
Glad you have a strategy for the pary season Trafford, i am scared witless about Paris - character building I am calling it! 1/2 Marathon is my greatest distance so far ( twice) but will have DH with me
Morning all, Just done my first weigh in. Am ashamed to say that's the heaviest I've been for a few years and it makes me sad. Anyway meals planned for today so here goes! Good luck to everyone weighing in today. Hoping to make this first week a good one.
Morning all - just a really quick one as I'm running really late! I'm absolutely gutted to say that I have put on 2.8lb this week I went to the Christmas market on Saturday and ate and drank my way through everything Then ate through the hangover yesterday. Back up to 9stone12
oh dear ....it is fun while in the moment - then we repent/regret at leisure.
Sounds like you had an epic time tho
NMJ - you are very determined so I am sure you will shift that extra poundage in no time. But thank you for the timely reminder of what over indulgence can do....
Oh dear NMJ, you've had the week from hell and are now suffering the effects. Don't be too down on yourself though, these things happen and in the whole scheme of things, this is just a little bump in the road. You know where you went wrong and can pull it back together to lose those 2.8lbs before Christmas.
Do some extra exercise everyday for half an hour even its dancing in the kitchen get out a lively favourite track and keep playing it .It will lift spirit and make you feel good , good luck
Stayed the same this week. My fault as didn't make my second exercise session at the gym and had a problem with the munchies mid-week. More determined for next week as I'd love to lose a further 2lbs before Christmas to hit the 12 and half stone before Christmas.
Well I started dieting three weeks ago (only joined the forum this week) at 12 stone 4 ilbs. Last week I was 12 stone 2.8 lbs and today 12 stone1 lb.
So good loss of weight this week after a wobbly start when I actually put on weight in week 2! I think it was Sunday dinner indulgence!
SO Tip for low calorie roast potatoes when everyone else is tuckiing into Sunday dinner treats - weigh your portion when they are par boiled and roast in cooking spray in a different tin. same with a a small stuffing ball if you want. Just a s nice as the high fat version and calorie controlled!
Might help with some Xmas dinners...!
Hope the knee improves though I am new toyour thread so need to checkout what happened to you! , I sympathise with dieting and not being able to exercise as you want (broke my ankle in August). I was running but alas not now
!
all best and Ruth is a mathematical saint! So are you all for dong this for us
Good Morning! Starting today - my weight = 11st 2lbs (70kg). Would like to get down to 10st or just under. Not the best time of the year to start but I definitely don't want to wait until the New Year. Wish me luck!
Well done for announcing your starting weight and your goal
As far as I'm concerned, this is absolutely the best time to start your healthy eating plan, because without doing so, you may find yourself with even more unwanted pounds to lose
All the very best for your first week
Hi Prin, Good morning everyone!
Hope you have a good week next week Prin, it's a bit scary how easy it is to fall off the wagon isn't it? I'm sure you'll be back in the driving seat with all your training now. I hope you knee does well.
I've been up and down this week, having lost "too much" really last week - and then had lots of social things on this week so I've been a bit out of control of my food intake particularly over this weekend, but this morning I've ended up the same as last week, which I think is what I deserve on the whole!
For me it's week 10
11st 7lb last week. 11st 7lb this week.
No change.
Total lost so far: 1st 1.5 lbs.
Favourite bit this week: Getting out in that wind and rain yesterday for a brisk walk - blew the cobwebs away and I met some friends that I haven't seen for a while.
Aiming to lose about 2st and started at 12st 8 1/2.
Have a great week everyone - time to start dodging the Christmas party buffets!
Ah - no snow in these 'ere southern parts (to the regret of the younger members of the household!!!).
Thank you for your cheery comments! I've been doing some intermittent fasting this week to keep the damage of the meals out / puddings to a minimum. So it could have been a lot worse...!!! This week should be a bit easier I think ... she says....!
Feeling a little deflated this morning after weighing in and staying the same think im not meant to get lower than 10st 9lb ๐
One the upside i didnt gain that's the main thing ๐
Not quite sure what went wrong as i kept to my eating plan, fitted a extra trip to the gym, uped my water intake and the poor dog cant understand why she is getting longer walks from me!
Anyway going to keep at and good luck to all for the coming week
Hi Kars, it sounds as though you've hit one of those dreaded "plateaux".
Maybe you could try changing what you eat a bit eg reduce your carbs, or change the time of day that you eat them, ie none after 5pm, you could even try upping your calories a little. It's all designed to jog your body into responding.
All the best, I hope you find something that works
Melon is a diuretic if you drink lots of water you will weigh more temporarily but hopefully if you eat less salt and eat more green veg it will all be washed out and you will be detoxed in the process good luck
Glad to hear your knee has survived the training and getting better.
My loss this week is 3.75 lb so I am very pleased and on target for my holiday on sunday which was to lose 10.5 lb from the day I went to dr and recorded my disastrous weight. Have now set new goal for xmas day at 12.7st another half stone. so thanks to everyone for all comments as it really helps. I now write down everything I eat and consider its nutritional value before I put it in my mouth. Have to think, do I really need this and even managed to give hubby my glass of mulled wine because it was too sweet. Best of luck to everyone with all the temptations . DONT EAT THEM !
Good morning Prin, training for the Paris marathon in this weather shows a high level of dedication and I take my hat off to you It was also good to hear you had chocolate and cake We don't have to suffer as we get fitter, it's all about balance. Some people have written in saying that they've reached a plateau, but I've like you, I've reached the gateau
Having said that, I've still managed to lose this week:
You've had yet another great week and I take my hat off to you, for totally nailing this new way of life. Well done you
Hope this week is just as successful for you
Only lost a pound this week despite trying very hard. So slow. This is when I usually pack up and have a cake. I think all that for one pound but when I look back at my week I can see where I'm going wrong. I was in London yesterday for my granddaughters party and had cake and cheesecake. determined to do better this week.
Every time you say you've only lost a pound Florence, I want you to go to your fridge and take out two packs of butter. That's not nothing, it's a great deal and those packs of butter soon add up.
Well done for spotting where things went a little wrong and not turning to the cake for consolation.
Hi Florence don't dispair any loss is good, and celebration wth family is always a must, I am sure you will crack it this week and have a great week look forward to your post next week
Glad to hear that your knee is on the mend Prin and well done with getting to grips with your marathon training. You understand the cause of your small gain this week and it is obviously going to be a tough time to stick to plan but if we can manage some very good days to balance out the more challenging ones it should restrict the damage.
I have lost 0.5 lb this week which is a tiny loss but I'm so pleased that I didn't gain with the birthday meal on Saturday and granddaughters party yesterday. Way too many alcohol calories consumed but next weekend is a quiet one by comparison so it would be nice to report 1 lb loss to get to my 1st stone off.
This weeks goals, keep up the exercise with pilates, cross-trainer and kettlebell and stick to calorie counting for 6 days out of 7 (meal out planned for Friday night which always makes it more difficult).
Good morning Fab 4 and everyone. What brilliant losses and inspiration from you all once again.
Last week I weighed 16.13.6, today I'm 16.3.00. Rather disappointed it's such a small loss, but I guess I could expect to plateau and exercise has been in very short supply due to work and the weather.
However, on the positive side wore my choir fleece for an outdoor performance at the weekend and it was soooo much looser than the last time I wore it. Also I was caught in the background of someone's photo of the event and guess what - I've got cheekbones!! Who knew??? Lol
So determined to stay on track this week and at least shift another pound.
Good look to everyone in avoiding the Christmas temptations.
I was gobsmacked when I read your post and it said last week 16 - 13.6 and this week 16 - 3.00........followed by rather disappointed!!! I'm guessing that second number should have read 16 - 13.00
A loss of 0.6lb is better than a maintain and much better than a gain, so celebrate it and be proud
You're obviously doing all the right things as is shown in your looser choir fleece and your cheekbones!
Keep up the good work and fingers crossed that next week's loss will be a bit bigger
Hi everyone, Unfortunatly I didnt lose anything this week but I didnt put on either, I havent had a great week as my hubby has been poorly and my little boy is teething so i havent really been on the ball last week. But still I will get back on it today! I will lose 2lb next week I am desperate to get to under 12st by christmas, I have 4lb to go x
Sorry to hear that both hubby and baby have been under the weather, fingers crossed that they'll both be feeling better soon. To have maintained with so many distractions is really good.
I'm sure you'll have reached the 11's by Christmas
I usually plan my weeks evening meals on a sunday but they all just went out of the window and it was a case of grab whatever I can. I'm going to sit down tonight and replan this week and include my lunches too.
I am a monkey for not having a proper breakfast i usually just have a clementine or satsuma. x
Well it's the final count down to Christmas...the most wonderful time of the year, the beginning of Advent so it really is the final push on the weight loss front.
Weigh in Monday and I've only managed to shed 1/2lb, I wanted to lose more but it's my own fault that I haven't, I'm very aware that I've become more relaxed about meals and the odd treat as a snack, I know what to do it's just doing it!
Mr J on the other hand is being very disciplined and has managed to shed 2lbs this week...hmmm well done him, it's getting quite competitive in our house!
Enjoy your week everyone, I'm just off to finish hanging up the Christmas decorations.
Hubby is losing and is demanding to be fed as he is so thin, so as all 3 grand children ,daughter and son coming for dinner tonight have made choc chip buns for them, as last week they didn't get them because of my healthy eating and fruit crumble. and spag bol. so I have put unsweetened apple and plums in a pot for me and saved banana to have while they eat my lovely cakes and I shall have a jacket potato with small amount of bol mix, no wine and now off to swim on my way to north pole!
Prin I am delighted to hear your knee is much better now. You have such a positive attitude regarding yo weight gain that it is no wonder that we all loose weight here. Well I have lost 4 lbs this past week. Went back to my walks and eating much healthier no more comfort eating. Went to wedding and I actually listened to my body yes I actually listened and stopped when I was full. usually over the weekend I am so naughty but this time I behaved myself. What are all of you doing to me? About time!I can't believe lost weight even though it is the time of my month when normally I am starving but not this time. I deserve a gold medal!
First day and first week to weigh in here. Time to sort this weight out once and for all.
Weighing in at 16st 9.2lbs this morning - and a BMI of 41.4 - Feeling bigger than ever but also more determined than ever before.
My partner and I are on the scary road to adopting and i need to get my BMI below 40 for the adoption agency and also more importantly for myself. i have put on over 1.5stone in the past year and i have a personal goal to get my BMI to 37 in time for our medical which will be over christmas.
Hi all I weigh 11st11.25lbs this morning that's a loss of 2.5lbs very pleased, my start wait was 14st 0.5lbs so I am very pleased with my overall loss in 14 weeks. Can't believe I've stuck at it this long! Now for week 15 and the challenges of December! Good luck everyone.
Morning all, trying to read all the posts but my phone can't cope with the size apparently and is lagging and skipping til I feel quite giddy!
Lots of positive posts and good feeling today which is fab
I have finally managed to lose 1lb (not sure where ) unfortunately didn't manage to stay dry for November so am determined not to drink on any day in December other than the 6 social events I have pencilled in..
Doesn't matter where the 1lb came from Kate, just as long as it did
Not to worry about slipping during your stay dry November, but are you sure that's not the reason for the giddy feeling you're experiencing, rather than your phone Maybe you could try for a stay dry January, as well as an almost dry December, to make up for it!
I am in awe of Prin's energy and stamina, I want what sheโs got!!
Anyway - This morning I weighed 90kgs so I gained 500g since last Monday (1.5kgs since Saturday.) The weekend was a contented slothful maze of carbs, salty roast chicken and far too large portions. Am cross with myself but am not derailed I will not do that again this year. I have just bought a skipping rope.
Before and after/ interim shots? Just maybe the day (coming soon) I first fit into a wetsuit.
I know what you mean Gonti, I get out of breath just reading Prin's posts!
Oopsy daisy, sounds like your weekend took a nosedive, but you've obviously learned your lesson and are determined to not let it happen again, this year anyway Good luck with the skipping rope, I've thought of getting one myself, but not until I'm small enough for a good sport bra!!
Ssh about those photos, I've been ignoring that suggestion in the hope it'll go away
Bad luck with the 500g gain, but I think you're all set for a great loss next week
Try "Less Bounce" online/mail order for really good sports bras for us bigger ladies. I've been a customer for years. The bras are not cheap, but they are really good makes and last very well. They also provide very good advice and customer service is excellent. I swear by the "Anita" bra by Rosa Faia. Only one which doesn't give me a "monoboob" and virtually indestructible (the bra, not the monoboob!).
Morning All! Prin I sympathise with the knee as mine have been playing up for a while. I have a new gym programme been doing for 2 weeks, with lunges etc to strengthen other muscles in the leg to help the knee. I am unsure whether should experience some discomfort at first?! gym really helps my mood, which is important else I comfort eat. (although majorly improved on this over last year)
Well pleased as this week lost 2lbs so just nudged into 11s , which I think is first time in 20 years!! Testing week with a couple of nights out, so hope to stay in 11s, and still hoping to get to that healthy BMI for Christmas.
Glad you had a good birthday Bonni and now you've got a clear run through to Christmas where you can lose those gained 2lbs and some extra pounds, in order to fit into that bridesmaids dress.
Morning Prin, impressive, Paris Marathon, marvellous your dedication and effort. I'm afraid I put on this week, not been counting calories, had a weekend in London seeing The Blues Brothers and eating out in an Italian Restaurant and American style Diner. Weight is 13.1.1, waist the same though 41". Wishing everyone a great week ahead.
So after my scales being silly last week and loosing track of how much I'd actually lost I'm going to take this weeks loss at 0.4kg although I do think it's a bit more this will be wheat I take it as and then go from there for next week- I stupidly was weighing myself every other day which confused matters I have stopped that now and will do it once maybe twice a week if I need a kick up the butt!
I'm very pleased with this loss after a bit of an overindulgent Saturday with Christmas markets alcohol and tgi Fridays!!
Ooooo that definitely sounds better! Haha I am one stone down and two to go- so 1/3 of my way there so that is Defo my motivation- plus the exercise I'm doing I can tell the difference! I'll get there
Awh yeh so happy!! And Woooo well done- I've tried bits before but this forum has helped so much!
I have a Drs appointment coming up so I reckon I'll have to jump on their really posh scales to get a comparison reading and they can update their computer! Haha
Although sometimes I think their scales add weight on!
A really bad week for me. Once I start on the slippery slide the rest of the week is the same!
Last week I was 12st 2.5lbs this week 12st 7.5 lbs. A gain of 5lbs! That takes in my trip to the Hotel Chocolat, Dad wanting bacon & onion suet pud at the weekend and a meal out Saturday lunchtime. Not forgetting the finishing off of the mince pies & custard and the take away chocolate from London.
I have pulled a muscle in my shoulder lifting the up & over double garage door and have been in pain for several days which hasn't helped cos I am feeling sorry for myself!
This week I shall get back into the good routine and try and redeem myself.
I have just replied to you but it has dissapeared, you are going to have to join me in detention this week I am afraid, at least I won be on my own, I will think I am letting you down each time I reach for that bad treat, you think the same too and we will crack it. Hop back on board the waggon I saved you a seat ( glad you enjoyed London) and looking forward to hearing from you next weekxx
That's a great idea..... the ghost of Prin present hovering in front of me and the ghost of Candystripe past tormenting you. OMG how scary is that. We should technically be the biggest losers next Monday. May the force be with you! X
Hi Flossie, hope you're well and looking after yourself.
Hotel Chocolat was good but if I had to choose between mash with or without white chocolate it would definitely be without. Likewise with the burger. However, bring in the hot chocolate & chocolate dessert.
Yes keeping up with the pain relief. Didn't take any last night and finally at 0100 had to get up to remedy that! Wish it would just go away!
Thank you Prin for your inspirational post, I've gone up a pound too to 12 stone. Really thought I tried hard as first week into eating healthier so got to try and work what's wrong this first week into the plan
Hi Car, maybe we could both have a look at what may have gone wrong on your first week.
Are you doing the 12 week plan?
Have you checked your calorie allowance on the NHS BMI calculator?
Are you planning your menus ahead of time?
Are you checking your calorie count meticulously? ie weighing all your food?
Are you writing down everything you're eating?
Have you been drinking enough water?
Have you been keeping an eye on portion sizes?
Are you remembering to count the calories in oil, salad dressing, sauces etc?
Have you been checking packaging labels? A lot of so called low cal products are filled with sugar to give them flavour. Fresh products are definitely the way to go.
I hope this may help and that by next week that 1lb gain will be a distant memory
Hi yes I am doing the twelve week plan, will have to keep an eye on planning in advance to make it easier. I cannot keep fit due to health. Think I need to keep an eye on carbs and be stricter with weighing foods as eat healthy just maybe too much. Thank you ๐
congrats to all those who had losses this week it takes a lot this time of year to keep going! Yey !!!!
I hope all those with little gains don`t feel too disheartened and are able to refocus this week and get back on track.
I managed to put on a pound this week which is annoying but my body fat has gone down a little so thats good, just grumpy with my pound but today is the start of a new week so I am going to put it behind me and try harder this week , less nibbles more fruit and veg!
Hugs to everyone xxx
Advent Calenders tomorrow I am going to savour my daily choc!!!
Hi prin I hoped for a better loss this week as I stayed at the same weight last week. Last week I was 16st 4 lb 6oz this week I'm 16st 3lb 2 ozs loss of 1 ibs 4 ozs I'm hoping to get under the 16st for Xmas. Good luck to everyone rosie xx
Thanks moreless I'm really struggling with things to eat I have diverticulosis and I can't eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, when I was first diagnosed it was advised to eat as much fibre as possible but over the year's it has been causing infamy at ion. Sorry about the long life history but if anyone has any tips I would really appreciate it, I find this forum brilliant for advice and support rosie xx ๐
Thanks for getting that for me but I've had this problem for over 30 yrs I see the consultant twice a year she's tried her best but it's just got worse over the years I've googled so many nhs sites and I get nowhere, it's time for me to stop moaning because I joined their forum and there's a lot of people who are worse off than me. I'm glad I found this group because it keeps me motivated and 1 lb a week is better than gaining thanks again for your support rosie xx
Sorry I couldn't be more help Rosie, but bear in mind, 1lb/week loss is average and is completely normal even for people with no health issues. I'm afraid you'll just have to be patient
I'm going to copy and paste Health Kick 2000's results here, because I think she's posted on Prin's picture thread by mistake.
boooooooo... Don't you hate those scales.... 18st 9.5 lbs today....
exactly the same as last week.... I have to say finding it hard to be good with all the Pre-christmas socialising ......... the next few weeks are going to be a nightmare...
Morning all, after my 0.2lb gain last week bringing me up to 222.2lbs I'm happy to say I lost that and more and now weigh 216lbs so I've lost 6.2lbs including the gain and 6lbs without. Excellent result seeing as I've giving up on calorie counting at the moment as I'm at a high stress time for me so I'm just focusing on making the healthier choices but keeping it simple so I don't also need to worry too much about recording everything I'm eating. And obsessing over calorie amounts.
WELL DONE everyone who lost and commiserations to those who gained - keep focused, you can do it!
I lost 1.5lbs this week and am delighted as I haven't managed as much exercise as I would have liked due to a bug. Hoping this week will be better on that front.
Every cloud has a silver lining, maybe the bug hindered the exercise, but helped with the weight loss
Hope you're feeling heaps better now, especially with a 1.5lb weight loss under your belt
All the best for this week
OMG!!! I've lost 2.5 lbs, my biggest loss for 6 weeks, BUT... (cue drum roll)
I'm in the stone below!!! AND...
I've lost a whole stone!!!
WOOO-HOOO!!! (I'm a tad excited - can you tell????) Been doing my happy dance all day. Not giving in to temptation and slogging it out in the gym has been hard work - but it's so worth it to feel this good
Just popped back, I've been having a sort through my wardrobe as I'm a bit of a hoarder and refuse to throw out comfy jumpers etc even when they are so bobbly that I could easily pass for a tramp - lol!
I now have motivation for the week, and the foreseeable future. I came across a couple of tunic jumpers and denim bootcut jegging type things that I've barely worn as I quickly got too big for them after my slipped disc...I tried them on and was pleasantly surprised. I reckon another half-stone or maybe a stone (I'm tall and lose from everywhere rather than one spot) and they will fit properly. Tbh I was amazed I could get them on at all and I haven't worn denim on my bottom half for at least two years so I have something to look forward to now. I'm going to keep them in sight in the bedroom so I can remember what I'm aiming for next, and hopefully that will keep me on track a bit over Christmas. If I can keep going I should be able to wear them Jan/Feb time!
What a find WW,and, as you say, what motivation! I've got heaps of stuff lurking in my wardrobe, just nothing at this size. I do, however, have several brand new size 22's that I need to slim into, so they're my motivation
We're going to be so well dressed in time for valentine's day
I think we panic a bit when we know we've overdone it! So happy for you here's to a fab week and no scones !! Lol
๐
I'm struggling a bit with posting to this thread, so I hope it works ok !
So after last weeks gain I am pleased to report that this week I am 170.8lbs, a loss of 2lbs. It should have been more (I was below 170 during the week), but we had a night away with family which resulted in eating too much of the 'bad stuff' ! (pesky stollen !) Still, I am pleased that my hard work earlier in the week meant it didn't result in a gain, and hopefully this week will involve no overeating ! To be honest, with the extra eating over the next few weeks, I shall be happy to maintain and start again with the loss in January !!
Hi.Been depressed lately and started binge eating evenings.Gained 2 pounds .Serves me right.๐ฌ Today been Very good,so far.Trying to drink more and eat less.
There's no way you deserve to be punished for being depressed, just the same as you wouldn't deserve to be punished for having appendicitis!
Cure what ails you and everything else will fall into place
I know the weather at the moment isn't great, but try getting out into whatever sunshine we do get, because it can instantly lift your mood. Failing that, think about trying a vitamin D supplement and see if that helps.
Don't worry about those 2lbs, you'll see them off in next to no time
Hi I have stayed the same. I have been a naughty girl most days, only over by 100 calories or so, but must try harder! I seem to just log food as I eat it and get to bedtime, and think - oo how much have I eaten!!! So I'm going to type in all my food and exercise for that day in the morning, to ensure my snacks don't go over. So I am learning, but learning slowly! I still feel in control though so in a good place, just need to be more aware when I go over my quota! Bring on the next week and us being a little more mindful!
This whole journey is about re-education and trial and error Maxine, you'll get there, slowly and surely, the same as we all are
You've managed to maintain, which means you have got your finger on the pulse most of the time and you just need a little tweaking to get you up and running
Good luck this week, I'm sure we'll see a great loss next Monday
Hi Prin - I've lost another 1 1b this week so now 12 st 12 lb. my waist seems to fluctuate sometimes 37 and sometimes 26.5 but still 2 inches above the safe measurement.
Liking 3lb down - well done you, if you have a spare teaspoon of dicipline can you pass it my way please?
Well, I was back up a pound at 11 stone 12 lbs. Annoying. Big Saturday night; I thought not much food, but quite a lot of booze. Going to read these responses now and try to get motivated rather than giving in and putting half a stone back on!
Not a good week as I have only lost 0.2lb but that is despite having fish and chips on Thursday in Whitby and a fat rascal from Betty's on Friday - it was the last two days of my husband's annual leave this year. Then over the weekend I have had a bad cough and cold but I think this made me stick to three meals a day and no snacks as I just didn't fancy them. Also didn't feel like exercising but I have done a 30 minute walk today. A quiet week this week so hopefully I will lose a bit more at weigh in next Monday.
A warm welcome to you keep-on are you using the 12 week plan? We are all at different stages here, with different amounts to lose, stick with us and you should see results, this thread makes us accountable for our weight so join us on Mondays good or bad,mif you need help or advice just post someone will be able to help. Slow and steady wins the race!
Good Morning, well its Tuesday and I couldnt come on here yesterday as was annoyed with myself, I stood on scales and was two pounds up !!!!!! It was my mums 80th and we had a buffet and I was left with the big birthday cake and no willlpower!! Im out on Saturday and have a dress to get into so need try soooo hard this week ๐ญ x
You only get one chance to celebrate your mum's 80th nanashon, so don't be annoyed at yourself for doing it. Those 2lbs will soon come off and you'll look gorgeous in your dress on Saturday
Go for it
Hi Prin - posting a day late as I was at my boyfriend's over the weekend until Monday a.m. so no scales for me to weigh on. Weighing in this morning at 10st4 which is 2lbs up on last week. It seems to be the same 2lbs that I lost last week and gained the week before. I think this is normal fluctuation and anyway it's well within my goal maintaining range of 10st0 - 10st7. I'm still managing to maintain most of my good habits too, although only did one run last week which I hope to improve on this week. I feel a tiny bit bloated so will also focus on drinking water and herbal teas this week. But overall I think I'm doing okay.
I hope anyone else who has gained despite feeling they're doing everything right can take some comfort from this - our bodies seem to do all sorts of weird things that affect the scales aside from what we eat and do for exercise. Hopefully things all even out in the long term
Wise words Ruth. We do need the voice of reason when strange anomalies show up on the scales that threaten to send us into a tailspin.
You're so on the ball with your own maintenance programme too. Are you actually enjoying it yet, or are you still struggling to find a balance? I'm chalking all this up for my very long term goals
Hope you manage to sort out your bloating and get in a couple of extra runs, I'm sure I can see a 10k looming on the horizon
Hi Moreless - wanted to reply to this sooner but was locked out for a bit - literally couldn't log in and access the site! In answer re maintaining yes I am enjoying it - I'm even not too bothered about gaining the 2lbs this week although if I gain again next week I might 'knuckle down' a bit. As I think I've mentioned elsewhere I'm focusing more on keeping my exercise going rather than worrying about what I shouldn't be eating. This has really helped I think, especially as I enjoy the exercise that I do. I don't know about the bloating and the 10k but I've got one run and over 40k of cycling under my belt already this week so all's going well Hope your week's going well too
You're not the only one that got locked out, I did too and I'm still struggling to reply on this thread - it's in delayed action
I'm so pleased that things feel relaxed and "normal" for you and I'm positive that if necessary, you'll be able to rein things in to keep within your maintenance range You're going great guns with the cycling and running, WTG you!
I'm having an awful week, it's like I peaked last week and now I've lost my mojo. I just can't seem to get my act together, everything feels like too much effort.
I think I'm going to go easy on myself this week and come back to it refreshed next week
Thanks Prin yes it's tough but I think having your eye on the ball is key. I really think the weekly weigh ins are helping so much. Can I ask how you got your 'I did it' by the way? Is it for completing the 12 week plan or for reaching goal weight? Either way I think I've done it too...
I was advised last night to bite the bullet and post my weight on here. I realise you guys do it on a Monday but mine works out to a Tuesday so here goes.
I am on week four now of the plan.
Start Weight: 20st 9lbs
Now as of this morning: 19st 12lbs
That is a loss of 12lbs over three weeks. I am quite please and am on target to lose a stone by Christmas. Only 2 lbs left to go
Well done for biting the bullet and posting your stats
You're doing brilliantly, 12lbs in 3 weeks is fantastic and only 2lbs to get to your Christmas target of a stone. I'm sure you'll smash that easily, in fact, you may even have done it by next week
Thank you so much. Maybe my target is too easy but i think as a first goal its okay. Really pleased with myself. Good luck to you and everyone else with their targets.
Here's something to maybe give you a bit of a push for slightly more of a challenge. Sueper is running a Christmas weight loss challenge, where we've pledged our goals. Maybe you'd like to do it too? Here's the link
December is a difficult month but we can do it. I have now lost 14.5 kilos in total although nothing this week. Feeling so much better, I can win the mince pie battle this year!
