Week 4

Monday weigh in and I've lost 1.2lbs. total lost of 7.4lbs.

So with the last 3 weeks, I haven't really incorporated exercise. Mainly because my sleeping pattern has been ridiculous and to get exercise in for me it has to be between 6-8am in the morning.

My diet is definitely the reason I am consistently losing weight.

I am on a 21 day vegan diet as of today and I've been practising for the last 4 days of last week to ease me in this week.

It's actually not so bad and I'm excited to see how my body responds to it.

I don't plan to be vegan completely after the 21 days, I aim to be more so vegetarian. Nevertheless I am not planning to cut out meat completely, just eat it in moderation so any time between twice a week to four times a month.

I am of Nigerian origin so we eat meat way too much, this is more of a way for me to create a more healthy relationship with food. Understanding, it's all about nutrition and not just eating any and everything.

I am very excited, my goal seems so much more achievable! A 1/3 of the way through now.

See you in week 5 and hopefully, I'll have more exercise logged in my entry.

Also, if anyone has myfitnesspal add me: marypurpleberri

Have a great, healthy and productive week.

Lots of Love

M.

Hi Mary. Good luck with your 21 day vegan plan and congrats on your really impressive weight loss so far. Have you thought of just finding smaller chunks of exercise to do, so you can fit it into your day more easily? Things like 15 minute workout videos, or simply getting off the bus to work a stop earlier, or parking your car further away, or commuting by bike? Re the vegan diet, I'm not vegan, but close to it except for having eggs and fish. It's definitely interesting you're using this as a way to re-educate yourself! I find that I have to plan ahead a lot for packed lunches, meals out, going to friends etc. Those can all be a challenge when you're trying to lose weight anyway, but perhaps even more of a challenge as a vegan? Let us know how you get on :)

Hey Ruth!

I love seeing your comments!

I'm going on anther food shop again today.

It's already been a challenge. I'm going this weekend and next week and I'm planning ahead what I can or can't eat.

With exercise I walk a lot during the week and walk to the train station instead of getting the bus. I do small things like that already. I'm so used to doing high intense cardio and strength that it's just weird that I haven't done it.

I guess it's not that I don't incorporate exercise at all. I just haven't started my work out plan.

Thanks a lot Ruth!!

Exercise will start in full force this week.

I'm also someone who is naturally quite active and needs to really up the exercise to see the difference. Hope you do get the cardio started in that case then! Good to see you posting on here too! I've stayed the same this week, which is okay, but I feel like I need to up things a bit too, to see more weight loss next week.

I guess we are quite similar in that way!

I'm always happy to see no change or loss than a gain. So keep doing what you know best to do and I'm sure you'll see a loss next week!

Good luck!
