Change Preparedness Addition Simplification

G'day, my Relapsing Remitting ms (RRms) family members. In the ongoing effort to make your life a little easier, I get to share with YOU my ongoing journey and the recent lessons that I have learned.

Being a former pilot I thought that multiple tasks and procedures were easy and in my cockpit, Alas without realizing it I was WRONG, very WRONG. I have found that 20+ years of RRms has not been kind to me, so much more than I had realized. My suggestion to YOU is to simplify everything in your life that YOU can. Start today to prepare for things to head downhill, for they will. I made the mistake of listening to others, and not being paranoid about things. I find myself forgetting how to handle activities that I performed a month ago. Not, able to easily adapt to changing circumstances. It is not being paranoid, it is being prepared. ingrain things in your muscle memory. Do things now, again and again, so that memory is strong. Looking around YOU, I can walk backwards without looking because I know to stop when I reach the line at the floor at the gym. The tree in the neighbours yard, the septic cover in the street. All these things pay attention, observing your environment, pay attention. Be aware and live your best life.

Do Not assume that the worst is in your future, it may NOT be. Just try to prepare yourself for as many events that YOu can.

I'm not sure if that makes me feel better or worse. I do like the part about making the mistake of listening to others.

RoyceNewton, as an MS Writer you should understand that everyone's MS is vastly different. With all the new DMT's on the market today, people are not progressing like we once did. So there is much Hope for them that they will not have to suffer from all the disability progression that we have. So why rain on their parade and preach doom and gloom to them. Instead preach education and proactive measures such as diet and exercise that will help to keep their MS in check? I know this is hard to believe but I can live my best life without noticing any sewer covers, on any streets, anywhere! So you see, everyone is different! Fancy59.

My apologies, I never meant to preach doom and gloom but a realistic approach. Beware of what may happen but take your Disease Modifying Therapy (DMT) and do not expect it to be you fate.
