SSD/Cobra Insurance

I’m scheduled for my SSD hearing at the end of the month in order to see if I will be approved. I have been denied X2, now it’s time to meet before the judge. Praying the outcome will be in my favor. Also I have appeal to my Cobra for Insurance extension because it will expire 3/31. As we know the medication is so very expensive one can’t afford it without Insurance. If anyone have every dealt with approval and insurance bumping head at the same pls give me some advice. Thanks!

Good Morning, I was only on Cobra for a month as it was so expensive so I went on ACA insurance. I was fortunate my SSDI went thru on the first go. Had letters from neurologist,, oncologist, and regular doctor all stating that I couldn’t work. So I had numerous things going on with MS. Wish you well and prayers are with you 🙏👍🏼😉🐾🐾

Ok. Yes. The Cobra is very expensive and will be great to get ACA for affordable price. Do you know if they pay for the MS Meds to your knowledge🙏🏾

You need a good lawyer. An MS support group may be able to help you.

I know it’s heartbreaking because I have had a insurance all my life and have worked for the last 32yrs. Worked as a Registered Nurse before being diagnosed 2yrs ago🙏🏾

Not sure which medication you are on, but contact the company that makes it. They all have Patient Assistant programs that will help you. Some, like Novartis, will send you free medication for up to six months in situations like this. Also, check with MSAA and other MS organizations. they all have help with this type of thing.

I forgot about this! Google Genentech Patient Foundation and if they make your medicine, they also have a free thing for those who have trouble affording it

If you have been turned down twice it's time to get a lawyer that specializes in SSDI claims. I didn't have any problems getting approved as my Dr filled in their portion in great detail listing my problems. My husband almost died from after surgery because of an incompetent anesthesiologist & nurse. It caused all kinds of problems to the point he couldn't work. It took a lawyer to get him approved. His Dr didn't fill out the form in detail like my Neuro did. Praying you can get it through.🙏🙏🙏

Thank you so much. I do have a lawyer and praying all will be successful. A lot on my plate with Medical Insurance ending 3/31, and Awaiting approval for SSD after court 3/29. Trusting and Believing in God for all of this🙏🏾
