Insurance.
The new insurance may not pay for the meds and treatment. Your dr may not be in network
With the meds you could ask for a formulary exception which last a year but you would have show other meds didn’t work or your dr will have let them know the med is a better option than what they will cover.
Treatment they may just say you don’t need it.
My insurance claim they pay for pt but every time I try to get them to pay they tell me because I have MS I won’t improve so they won’t approve it.
Don’t change your old insurance company until you have the new insurance company. Then I would call the new insurance and find out if they take your medicines, and doctors, Infusion’s what the copayment are.
Good like.
Find out first who the insurance company is and call them direct about benefits before you change 🤷🏼♂️. Benefits are a big deal now, not 💰. Unless you just hate your present job 🤷🏼♂️👍🙏🐾. Ken
Smartcloud1981 If I were in your position, I would be cautious. It is my understanding that changes to the health care legislation may allow insurers to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions. It that is the case, a new insurer might not cover neurologist visits, meds, MRIs etc.
My wife had to switch companies the first of the year from Select Health to Health Coop , what a mess🤬. She had to get all of her meds pre-approved. Took fighting with them for three months and she still has two that they will not approve after eight months 🤬. Different hospitals and pharmacy 🤬. We should have just paid more money and stayed with Select Health, but money is a issue as income is limited. Be careful and good luck 👍. 🙏😉🐾 Ken
Look out for deductibles. If you've already hit it with your old company, you'd have to start all over with the new one. Perhaps you could start with the new one in the beginning of next year???
We got new insurance last August and not much changed. I’m not sure the company changed, but the job did and the policy did. I just showed everyone my new card.
Check to see if they have your Dr. in the network. When I switched my insurance plans I asked my
prescription company how that works.
