Hi everyone, I’m in the emergency room waiting to be admitted I had a very bad reaction to the booster they had to rule out a stroke. My right side is limp. I can’t stand or move my leg or hand. Thanks in advance for all your support

Oh Sandy, I am so sorry. My prayers are with you, I hope the reaction fades away soon and you get back to your normal. Did you have the Moderna ? Hugs Jimeka 🤗
I spent the night in the er too after my booster. I had the same reaction and wasn’t sure if it was a stroke or heart attack but it was just a super strong immune response with a 104° fever. Hang in there!
Thanks Corran for the validation but I’m sorry you had to experience it. Are you doing better now?
Yes. It took a several weeks but I think I’m pretty much back to my pre-booster self. My neurologist ordered an MRI a few weeks ago just to make sure it didn’t trigger a relapse because I was struggling with some brain-fog but thankfully there were no active lesions. Hopefully it won’t set you back too long!
ok so last time pfizer #2 i had a bad reaction and it was gone the next day. this time its been over 48 hours and i am having difficulty standing up. after a few hours of trying my husband was able to pull me up did you say WEEKS? as it is its hard to prop myself up in bed
I was able to get in and out of bed on my own and walk (begrudgingly with my walker) after a few days. But unfortunately the heavy fatigue and spasticity lasted a few weeks. It was definitely more of a struggle than after the 2nd dose which I was mostly back to normal after a couple of days. I had also switched my DMT between the 2nd and 3rd shots so I don’t know if that was a factor.
Hi Corran731 I am much better today. thanks. I know what you mean about the love hate relationship with the walker. I think I'm back to my baseline. I hope there will not be a need for another booster.
do you now consider yourself allergic to the vaccine? that's what i'm thinking.
I don’t know. I’m definitely reticent in taking it again. My neurologist tried to downplay my reaction to the vaccine but I’m definitely going to get a second opinion before I would ever get a 4th. I’m also wondering if waiting longer than 6 months before another one would also help. I’ve just got a lot of questions.
Hey Corran, my booster was 7 months out. 😳My neurologist said it’s better than getting COVID but idk. I’m going to call her next week to discuss what happened and her recommendations. After the bad reaction to the second dose she said I should have gone to the hospital so I’ll keep you posted.
I don’t like that your doc minimized it.
Oh my gosh! That's terrible and so scary. I hope that they are able to make a diagnosis quickly and get you the treatment you need, if any. And I hope you are treated with kindness and respect. I'll be thinking of you until we hear from you again. Please keep us posted.
sending you 🤗. i'm so sorry this happened to you. please keep us updated.
I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this, Sandy. My love and my prayers are with you.
Oh no! I'm so sorry that this is happening to you. Sending prayers and virtual hugs your way. Please keep us updated when you can.
Sorry to hear that. Why do the doctors think the Vaccine has something to do with your MS. Just curious on what they are saying.
🙏🙏 Prayers for you dear.. was it the same as you had before or did you get a different one this time? I know the CDC said something about getting a different one for the booster, but I got the same one.. hope you are better soon..
Thanks MsBoo yes I had Pfizer 3x a little better tonight but not back to my baseline. I need more rest
yes.. rest.. I take two 600mg Tylenol after the shots.. seems to help me.. but that's me.. you know how that goes.. have a good rest.. your body needs it.. rest is better than the icky poo some get... take care.. best wishes to you dear
🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️
Oh no, I’m so sorry 🙏 I’ve read a few places where partial paralysis starts around 12hrs after the shot and lasts up to 24hrs (all MS people). Very scary to think you’re having a stroke 😞
Sandy,Of my Lord, I am so sorry this happened. I am praying
your feel beter soon.
Leslie
Sorry, you had to go through that. I pray that you are much better by now & that it was just temporary. 🙏🙏🙏❤️
thanks for sharing your experience. my thoughts and prayers are with you
I’m sorry you had to go through this and hope you are doing better.
I pray you are moving about better and have more strength now. I’m sorry to hear about this. Please keep us all posted.
Hi Erin, I think the worst is over. Today i mostly feel back to baseline.
That’s thrilling news!
You are awesome. Thanks for sharing your good wishes. I’m still tipping over a little but tomorrow should be fine
did you have any trouble breathing at all? I ask because this sounds a lot like an allergic reaction of some sort. And you looking down this thread i see you said you had a BAD reaction to the second shot but this time it was so much worse.. With allergens you become more sensitized every time you are exposed to that allergen. Like wasp or bee stings for example. you generally would not react much the first time you are stung but each time after that would be worse than the time before. Each time after would be worse and worse and you would get to a point quickly that you would reach an anaphylactic reaction eventually. That happened to me after only 3 wasp stings and i have to carry an epi pen now.. but this is how reactions of this type happen.. it is possible you had a minor reaction to the first shot.. the second was much worse and now the third landed you in the ER.. something you might ask your Doctor about
Wanted to check in and see how you’re doing. I think I saw you’re all recovered now. Wow, so scary! Praying you continue to improve❤️
Hi Leslie, thanks for asking. If you asked me yesterday i would have said yes, back to baseline, or even this morning. this afternoon a different answer. I fell in the street trying to step up to the curb, thankfully a stranger helped me up. Also i just noticed i can't kick my affected leg back as far as the other side. maybe 45 degrees instead of 90 on the other side. Yikes! The MRI said i am not having a flare-up but WTF is going on?
