1 year ago I went in to see a dermatologist I had a place on the side of my nose that started as a pimple type thing April or March in 2017 & wouldn't heal up. Had to go in to see my GP first then it took 5 more months to get in to see a dermatologist. Long story short it turned out to be a Basel squamosa skin cancer, it was removed April 2018. I have had no more things show up she confirmed that this morning. YEA!!

Thank you falalalala, RoseySawyer. greaterexp, Kenu. kdali & Peruzzot it was a relief to know she didn't find any thing else that was questionable. I am happy about that I do have to go back in 6 months to be checked again but as long as she finds nothing that is cool.

Thanks I am. Good to know his never came back, I was told it is the most common of skin cancers. About a month after mine was removed a good friend had a pimple like thing come up on the top of her ear. I told her mine started that way gave her the name & number of my dermatologist. She called they got her in with a different Dr. & hers was the same thing. Thanks for the info on your dad, I'm glad his did not come back.

So scary of what you found however so relieved that you found it early enough and it was successfully addressed. Your posts reminds me to always get an annual checkup. Thank you for the reminder! :-D

Yep since MS I watch any thing that happens try to evaluate it if I can't then I start looking for help. Don't jump to conclusions play research scientist.

Well, just in October I had a little pimple like thing come up on my hand, at the base of my pointer finger. I thought it was from a spider bite while pulling weeds. It kept itching and stinging, so I saw my dermatologist and she did a biopsy. It was also a squamous cell CA. By 3 weeks later when she saw it again, it had grown much larger and seemed to have grown legs! She had planned to burn it off, but after seeing it the 2nd time, she had to cut a large wedge out of my hand, requiring several stitches. I also had a melanoma on the side of my breast at one time, so they can appear in unexposed areas of your skin as well as the exposed. The moral is, don't wait too long getting something unusual checked out. It may be something more serious than you might think! Stay alert. Only you know what's happening with your body!

That is true , I was trying to heal my "pimple' & every time I washed my face I was knocking the scab off. Got thru the summer & still had it no way that's when I went to my PCP & he gave me a referral. It still took just over 5 months to get in, that's when I got aggravated as it seemed to be growing what I called FAST. A spot bandage would cover it then it wouldn't by the time they got me in. Now can't even tell I ever had a problem.

Glad your long wait is over!

But was it basal or squamous? While neither is as frightening as melanoma, squamous cell is more serious than basal cell and require more extensive cutting (can spread under the surface).

Dr. that removed it said both names a Basal squamous.
