Pneumonia...yuck!

After my foot surgery, I developed a cough. It did not improve and this morning I was having some trouble breathing. I felt like I might have pneumonia, so I went to the doctor. Yes, it is pneumonia. I have achey arms and legs, a headache also. Hope the antibiotic kicks in quickly! Love to all, Kelly

Hi! The doctor said that because I have been in bed so much after surgery it created a good situation for my cough to turn into pneumonia. That just tells me I need to move around more! My foot feels much better. I’m sure the meds will work fast and I will feel great soon. 😊 How are you doing? 🤗🤗

Can’t get used to this time change. I normally get up at 6, get showered and have a leisurely breakfast before Ted my grand dog arrives. But it’s here 5am and I will wake everyone up . I am going for the sandwich maker (mammogram) today, not looking forward to it, because I am short I am always on tip toes. I had my flu shot, the one for over 65s last week, and it has zapped all my energy. But I shouldn’t complain, I have got a lot of my diamond art done. 🤗

Get well soon. May I ask how long you were in the hospital? Did they give you one of those plastic breathing tubes that you exhale into and the bead goes up to a certain level? My last hospital stay had a sticker on the bathroom mirror that said #1 way to reduce chances of pneumonia is brushing your teeth. I am guessing that is saying the bacteria in our mouths carry pneumonia to our lungs?

I was very lucky and did not go to the hospital, just my doctor. I understand about the toothbrush. It makes sense, doesn’t it?

Oh, goodness! Recovering from a surgery then every cough, sneeze, or--absolutely worse--yawn means agony. I'm so sorry you are going through that. Make sure you COMPLETE the meds and don't stop taking them when you start feeling better. You really want to drop a MOAB on that mess. While I completed the treatment, I found out 4 years later my lungs were permanently scarred from the pneumonia. Prayers you heel quickly.
