This is in addition to my Vit D post earlier this week. Thank you for all the replies and info, it was very helpful. Question:

Have any of you noticed a difference with your energy level since taking a higher dose? I read lots of research that a Vit D deficiency can cause excessive fatigue. I suffer from daily intense MS fatigue. I learned from my Occupational Therapist this year to pace myself with each activity to save some energy throughout the day. and this has helped, but of course it’s not to the level I like, oh well. I also follow an Auto-Immune Diet and that’s helped reduce some of my pain.

Thanks! Nikki

Yes, when vitamin d gets really low, like in the 20's I feel increased fatigue. I do feel a bit more emotionally unstable as well.

Wow this is good to know because fatigue is one of my main symptoms and I'm always in that range

I have not noticed anything different between 40 and 70.

I don't remember. He put me on a lower dose quite awhile ago. My blood showed too high on D when he lowered it. I would think blood tests should be the deciding factor.

Yes, that’s right about the blood work showing deficiency or not.

Yes, the blood tests are the ultimate answer. I take 6000UI B12 a day and 3000UI D3. My blood levels show that they both are extremely high, iron is normal. But for some darn reason my platelets have me almost in anemia. They are still trying to figure this one out, but the Leukemia idea has popped up due to high white blood cell counts. I guess that job I did 20 years ago with nuclear material might not have been a great idea.

i'd never even heard of vitamin D deficiency until my neuro decided to test it and my vitamin B levels a few years back. he called me as soon as the results came in because they were extremely low. i do remember it taking a few weeks, but suddenly i wasn't exhausted after brushing my teeth any more. it was wonderful! i wonder how many people's vitamin D levels are even lower than they would be because of heat intolerance? i'd been avoiding the sun completely for years when i was tested.

i hope you feel better soon. stay strong.
