Family, having a good quiet day today so far, I hope so. I went out to breakfast, did not eat anything, so I have breakfast leftovers in the fridge. Maybe dinner, maybe tomorrow breakfast. The waitress looks at me weird when I scoop the entire meal into a doggie bag before I touched anything. I did drink the coffee, and make some excuse if I bother. The wait staff expect me to do this, and mostly do not ask anymore. I do not like to eat in public in public. I dribble far too much and choke myself too often. Such is the joy of trigeminal Neuralgia face surgery twice on one side and once on the other.

She who must be obeyed likes to eat out, as "YOU" can tell I am not keen on it, BUT. There are two people in this relationship. I put up with things that I do not like because there are two people involved. I ask her to do the same, but if she says NO I will cope with it. At times I insist on her accommodating me. I understand that there are two people and I am smart enough to know it can be very hard at times, but we are a couple. Dare I say it a team. We are in this together as are "YOU" and yours. Ask them to understand, insist that they understand. PROTECT YOURSELF but stand your ground.

The aim is to have a long joyful life. If not joyful at least content. "YOU" have power, act like it, in this life do not allow yourself just to be a pebble, kicked to the side of the road and forgotten.

Royce (your ms writer and Brother)

Stand up for yourself, do not be taken for granted.

thanks Royce, this is a very hot topic for me. I am married but feel alone in this disease. Looking forward to hearing from others how you and your partner work out the nitty gritty details of coping with MS

we both have ms,so lots of acceptance and a little bit of understanding. Not total as ms is so different for everybody. I do not understand her ms itch, she does not understand my Trigeminal. I do not expect her to understand me as I do not understand Her at times, just a lot of forgiveness and shrugs.

That's good of you to do that :)

My hub's pretty helpful & understanding.

I am fortunate.

I might not walk normally but I can still wrestle so I think he's intimidated into helping out. Yes, that is it.

😅😅😅

love all of this for it so true for me also and i do believe that we both have to give to help keep it pleasant for both of us ...yes there are times we do not agree and it is uncomfortable to deal with trying to just be nice with words ...we both use to have basic live apart for he was a truck driver owner opperator and we worked it together for i helped with the books and irs and the taxes and other drivers and worked outside of the home also and raised two wonderful children and we had our ups and downs but were basic living him on the road and me home so when we both had to stop working him for getting cancer and of course me getting MS ..it is a great big adjustment ...still at times it is bad and hard to deal with some things ...both are having eye problems ...old age ..but we are still working around all of it ...that is what a couple does ...love and happiness does really help....love is great ...take care and here i am talking and was just wanting to say i agree with your writing ...have a wonderful day and enjoy your breakfast ....

Good advice. Relationships are important to everyone. A relationship with a person with MS or any other chronic disease for that matter requires both people to at least try to understand each other. It's impossible to know what's like for the other but patience & listening to each other is important.
